I saw a video of Kittle asking him after the injury, if he was ambidextrous and could throw left handed. Sadly, Purdy said no. :( But leave it to Kittle to be the optimist and think of that!!!!

Leave it to kittle to say dumb sh** lol

One good thing for whoever the QB ends up being, they will have CMC with a full offseason under his belt. A year acclimated to SF. I believe he did a great job getting acclimated right away, but I do believe in outside stress. Getting traded mid-season, up and moving across the country, purchasing a house or condo or whatever, settling in. I think we'll see a 10x better CMC with whomever the QB will be. Much less stress on him this year coming up
We need some breaking Brock news
Maybe he's considering 1 year rehab.

Not necessarily. I don't know the particulars of this injury but for ACL's and such, they give it a couple weeks to let the swelling go down, sometimes longer.

From my knowledge of ligament injuries, it is important to reduce the swelling as much as possible because there is not a lot of room to move tissue out of the way in order to the injured area.

The one thing that is considered in the timing is to avoid the buildup of scar tissue in the area. Generally, the clock says two weeks or less. Hence, I would expect the surgery to happen by the end of this week.

considering?? If I'm the team and really care about this kid, they ought to have him sit out the entire 23 season...

Would TJS indeed likely give him the most throwing strength and flexibility between the 2 options?

We don't know what we don't know.......

You can say something like don't read more into a statement or body language then is actually there, or say something like the player/coach didn't mean a statement in xyz sort of way...... but the truth is you have to say that pretty darn often about Trey Lance.

It would not shock me if his teammates think he is not the best option at QB right now.

Most of these guys walk on eggshells when they talk to the media, It is not like we are talking about T.O here....most these guys are not off running their mouth.

I know I absolutely got the vibe that the team was elated when Jimmy J went back on the field in game 2. So when we have different tidbits come out, like Shanny talking about how difficult it ended up being getting a young QB with limited games under his belt up to speed, or someone saying like "hey when Brock is in we have to fully run our routs because no telling when he will throw the ball" it does sort of paint a picture we are not looking at Trey Lance just having a lack of opportunity, but possibly him just not being equal to other QBs on the roster at this point in his career.

I didn't watch that whole video but the guy did touch on a key point. Guys want to keep their jobs. Guys on offense want to be thrown to, they don't want 3 and outs, the want the best QB to help them keep their job and get paid. Guys on defense want the defense to stay off the field, they also don't want a ton of 3 and outs to the point they end up tired and making mistakes they get blamed for....

It would not shock me if right now they think the best option is Brock.

Lol I've never seen a team on any level hold a vote for who the QB should be when they have a coach.
Neither have I, I doubt it has ever happened at the NFL level, but I have watched enough football to see how locker room chemistry has made or broke a team. That is probably as close to a vote as we would see at the NFL level.

That really was not my point of the post tho, my point was we don't know what we don't know....so we are left looking for insight..... hence..... it would not shock me if some one told a reporter that they want one QB over the other.
It's essentially a nothing-burger. I can guarantee you without a shadow of a doubt that a coach is going to play who he damn well pleases to begin a season.

If losses begin to pile up and playoff contention begins to be questioned,....that's completely a different story.

We'd essentially cross that bridge if and when we ever came to it is clearly my argument,....but some of you seem to want to force that into preseason decisions,...lol.

Player choices or favorites has no bearing whatsoever on who a coach picks to QB a team and if it did, I surely don't want that guy running my team. Unless there's some GM with full autonomy or whatever,...the coach completely runs the offense,...the coach picks his pieces he wants on the field. And I wouldn't wanna have it any other way.

Sure, but a key part of a coach's ability to have success is the players' buying into their program, including decision making with personnel among many other things. That hasn't been a problem with Kyle and company to this point, but it isn't static either. It can change.

I do agree it's a nothingburger at this point. The earliest it could become an issue is when the decision is actually made.
#4 pick in the draft. 1st round.

ESPN NFL re draft 2022 draft.

So you'd be happy with no Purdy and Abe Lucas being our only pick in the 1st 2 rounds?

He doesn't need to do the TJ surgery (1 year rehab). All that's needed is the tendon repair (6 months).

Simply Brock Purdy would go much, much higher if there was a re draft. That's true. That is all. It's also correct.
