QB Brock Purdy Thread

Recovery time for a QB would not mirror a pitcher. He'd be ready much faster then that.

But this injury and similar ones should prompt the question if a QBs arm should be protected during the throwing motion. Maybe it should be illegal to deliver a blow to the throwing arm while in motion just like it's illegal to hit their legs.

Oh God no. Please no.

Waiting for MRI but there is fear it might be Tommy John injury which if true might take his rehab all the way to June or July which is going to tie our hands in camp if late July. It should not be the year version many baseball players experience but camp and getting ready may be heavily impacted.

This is info I've heard on tv. I am not a DR or play one on tv.

If it's TJ, then he could be out a year. Pitchers who get TJ surgery can be out as long as 1.5 years.

There's a lot riding on this MRI.

Let's just wrap them in bubble wrap. The defensive players are already handicapped in where and how they can hit the QB and other players. We don't need more restrictions. I say they should allow teams to carry 4 QBs with the 4th not counting against the roster. I also would like to see QN salaries exempt from the cap. Maybe all of therm except the starter. Then teams could afford to carry quality backups.

It'd be interesting to know had the 49ers made it to the SB, would Brock have been able to play? If not, then what's the point.

No, we should hear results today. Don't have to wait a couple of days.

I think even if its not serious it would still be a 6 week recovery.

Yeah so even had the 49ers advanced, it's either Josh Johnson or a rusty Jimmy in the SB. bleh

No point really. Not sure how we would have made it with no qb anyway. We ran out them. If Johnson didn't get hurt & somehow we won..not sure how there would be a SB 9er win going against Mahomes. Just a bummer. Hoping everyone who got hurt yesterday heals up soon. 🙏

Let's pray that UCL isn't torn, because if it is, that arm won't be the same and we've lost our original Brock star.

The NFL is a QB league. Nobody wants to watch backups play each other or see a 4th QB playing for a trip to the SB. If we're going to protect them as much as we do it only makes sense to protect their arms too.
Had a feeling it was too good to be true.
