QB Brock Purdy Thread

Man, as I read and heard of what Kyle, Kittle, and Purdy talked about that play, it epitomized the trust between the players and coach. Especially between the young qb and Kyle. Kittle wasn't supposed to be out on a route but when Purdy rolled out and couldn't find anyone open, Kittle was heads up to go out, find an open space, and Brock had enough vision and moxie to let it rip quick.

No way Kyle after seeing that wouldn't trust Brock to do the right thing. Later on, empty back field for Brock to throw for a critical 3rd down conversation to run down the clock on Dallas.

Was almost startling to see the back go out wide on that play. Rubber meets the road moment. Surely everyone watching felt it.

Ya their pass rush is scary as well. I just don't think they will be as physical as Dal. I was very impressed with Dal and how fing physical they were.

I think this was a great test for us and hopefully the OL wakes the f up next game and plays like bullies.

I don't like the running the wrong way on the field stuff, just throw it away on the run

One thing we've seen consistently is that Purdy really needs that half second to set his feet before a throw. It's why his scrambles have some extra moves to them. This is overall a good thing, but learning throw aways without perfect footwork might be a thing worth teaching him to work on.

A 9 year NFL veteran starting QB would do better than a rookie with less than 10 starts? Not really a hot take. The gap between them right now isn't that great, let's wait and see what Purdy looks like a couple years from now. My guess is that Dak still won't be any better.

Money is always a factor. Is Dak nearly $40 million better than Purdy? Not even close.

Yes, of course, money is a factor. The original post I was replying to was comparing Purdy's performance (which I described as a 'rookie' performance) directly with Allen, Prescott, Jones and Lawrence. In a vacuum I think you take any of those guys over Purdy without hesitation, or at least I would. That was the only point I was making. It's obviously not an apples to apples comparison once you factor in $.

Prescott was throwing picks before Pollard went down. The guy responds to pressure situations with damaging mistakes. Can win the occasional big game with that but not a string of them. What is a guy worth who can't hold it together in the playoffs? Again, Purdy has one quality Dak lacks and will likely never find; he gives you a chance.

This is what happens when a QB holds a gun to the team's head for a contract. The same MAY happen in Baltimore if not careful. Teams maybe panic a bit as their options at QB are slim and agreeing to massive contracts can be a fail.

This is the truth! A lot of these guys are girlfriend material not marriage material and at some point even the ones you would take home to Mom can become so needy it is just better to be single… but hotness makes men do silly things.

Yeah, I think the DAL defense played exceptionally well against us. The were consistently getting some kind of pressure, not necessarily a sack, but enough pressure to bother Purdy and interrupt the timing of his throws. The Eagles will obviously be looking at the game plan Quinn played us defensively because he did a really good job against us. Purdy looked good but was definitely uncomfortable a lot of the game. The announcers made the point that moving Micah Parsons from DE to a roving kid of LB was really effective against our running game. Regardless, each game is different. I think Philly has more speed than Dallas offensively.
19 - 29 for 214 yards. 0 interceptions. That's a pretty good game. No turnovers against a very good Dallas team. Some big plays to Kittle. Not many risky or bad throws. One the DB could have caught got tipped and altered at the line of scrimmage. So that changed the path. But for the most part his throws were safe and only where the WR, TE or RB can get it. He didn't really have a lot of wild throws. That's what was impressive. Purdy is good.

Brock didn't turn the ball over vs the defense that forced the most turnovers this year. Can't wait to see what he was looking at. Pass rush was good but Brock usually gets rid of the ball sooner than what he was doing tonight. I'm guessing it was tight man and it didn't look anything like what SEA was doing. Didn't take bad sacks, didn't turn the ball over and managed to get the win while making key throws in the second half. Experience building game.

Right before 1/2 time, I was impressed that he got rid of the ball so we at least got a chance for the field goal.
Showed great awareness that a lot of veterans could have screwed up.

Should he probably have thrown it away sooner?

I didn't understand why Kyle didn't work the clock better here.
0 turnovers against a top tier defense is encouraging. I hope we can get the run game established early next week so Brock can really cook

sucks because with one more second Kittle had a shot a catching a pass.

If you pause at the time of the throw I legit thought BCB was doing his take on The Catch here

George will clear.. if it's not there.. simply throw the ball away
