QB Brock Purdy Thread

Until you see an All-22 breakdown it's impossible to accurately judge how Purdy did. Need to see if he was turning down throws that were there or if he really had nowhere to throw and was doing what he could to make something happen.

The issue is when we play Seattle they rush 4 but still pressure him on 60% of his dropbacks and have 7 in coverage while we have a banged-up Evans who still played amazing, flu Kittle, CMC, and that's about it.

This was the sole reason they overhauled the WR corps in the offseason to add speed and talent because you figure if you have Evans, Strib, Pearsall, Kittle, and CMC all out on routes one of those dudes is going to be a mismatch and be open and you count on Purdy being able to find one of them.

Another issue is I'm not sure why we didn't run the ball more when it was mostly solid this game. Seems like we were playing right into the strength of their defense rather than attack it's weakness.
"Deer in the headlights", "Want to see him eliminate bad throws". WTH????? Who are these people?
Brock is the best QB we have had in so long. Stop complaining.
I mean seriously. I'm so glad this forum has a soft block feature.

Best 49ers QB since Young? Or is it still Garcia?

Best since Jon Steven Young.

It was a struggle but who thought it was gonna be a game like the one at Philly 3 years ago?
That Seahawks Defense is fantastic. That's the reason they won the Superbowl last year plus Darnold having a great game in the NFCCG.
Like you said, Purdy was good when it mattered the most.
He didn't crumble under the pressure. He kept fighting and he made big plays in the fourth quarter.
It was a division game against probably the best team in the league. The Niners had basically Mike Evans and nobody at the WR position. No Nick Bosa.
That's the type of performance you want to see from your 53 millions QB.

On the road in their house as well, which assists their defense even more.

Was a great performance from Purdy, don't think any other QB in the league was winning that game.

He was bad? Really?

Some folks just don't know what real good qb play actually looks like.
Purdy was actually pretty good. The INT was on Cowing who basically was solely responsible for 10 of SEA's points. The grounding penalty was a actually a superb play by Purdy and just to show the refs who the f**k Brock Purdy is, he threw a 1st down on the very next play.

If you're criticizing him for this game, you're only looking at the stat sheet. The SEA D# has a huge speed advantage against the Niners and that allows them to defend 20 yards no matter the field position. They are a very bad matchup for the Niners. Evans and Purdy still made it happen when it counted the most although Evans was the only threat with Kittle being ill.

Anyone who doesn't understand what a demonstration this win was not only defensively, should just start watching more football and get better at understanding the sport.

Rreminds me a bit of the Joe vs Buddy Ryan's eagles game. Joe didn't win it until in the 4th Qtr he burned the eagles corner with Jerry TD.

His only noteable WR was MIke Evans.
Give him Pearsall (or Robinson) and Stribling
Man...I got Montana vibes from this game! One of those tough, slug it out, games where the defense (both sides) was making every yard tough. Then...when the team needed it most...the MAN stepped under center and executed a winning drive to nail a Q4 victory in the backyard of the enemy. So sweet! For a little while yesterday, [10/11/26] I felt like I had gone back in time to an era where I 'expected' to win every game. I know not "every" week is a win, but every week I have that feeling again. Good times!

Thank you, Brock Purdy (and company)!

I wonder how much of that had to with losing Juice.

People will realized how good of a performance by Brock yesterday as time goes by. Going into Seattle. Against a fast physical defense. It wasn't perfect. He didn't blink. Made the throws when the offense was struggling. His receivers decimated with injuries. Brock and Mike Evans were basically the air attack against the Seattle defense.
During the game day thread, I mentioned how I was frustrated how he always looks off against them. Then he had that bad interception. I said how he responds to that will tell me a lot, well, he responded! I just really want to see him demon locked in next time against these brutal defenses and bring it all 4 quarters like he did at the end.
