Only team that I think would trade anything remotely close to what the team wants for MAC, are the Vikings. Idk if they'd do that though but it's a team that would make sense to upgrade at the QB position this year. I doubt the Niners would trade Mac there knowing both teams are on a collision course for the playoffs.

i think Mac will ultimately stay with us and leave to Minnesota in the off season.

Agree 💯 % that they aren't trading Mac. Unless they think Kurtis has made tremendous progress in practice. If they wanted to trade Mac, it would have been before or during the 2026 draft, where I think they got some decent draft offers, but none that wow'ed them.

There's been QB injuries around the NFL, but they still wanted too much draft capital to part with Mac, so I doubt Mac is leaving us this year. His destination is to a Kyle Shanahan HC disciple in the 2027 offseason.

today's steve young would back up rourke too, ppl get old,, father time only has that one loss, tom brady

You must have missed Aaron Rodgers. Jimmy is only 34. With a good surrounding supporting cast, Jimmy can still be a good QB. Even multiple pick Sam Darnold won a superbowl - but he had a top flight defense to help him and a good strong run game. There's nobody out there like Brock, so if we lose Brock, its still not a certainty that the 49ers can win a championship with Mac Jones either. To me both Jimmy, Sam Darnold, and Mac Jones are kind of at the same QB talent level, with Mac Jones being the youngest and with still high upside.

No way we win that game vs Seattle if Mac was QB. Brocks mobility saved us.
I don't think they trade Mac, the brain trust knows they can go deep this year and possibly take the Lombardi, to do that they need a competent backup in case purdy gets hurt.... with an effective and reliable running game and top 5 defense we can win it all with Mac
I'm sorry—I know this is old but I needed to find this because I distinctly remember it (and the Internet did the absolute best it could to scrub it from the Internet to protect Jennings' reputation—but unfortunately for him I dug through articles and found this embedded within it) and my goodness, it has aged hilariously. Like I don't think I've ever seen a clear 49er hater's take age so horribly before:

This was a couple days after we beat the Packers in the divisional round a couple years ago.

To all the non-49ers fans out there who insist we're "too insecure" about the media's takes on Purdy, this clip right here is exactly why. They've been so blatantly wrong about him it's not even funny.

the insecurity you have isnt because of the clip

the insecurity you have is that you cant take someone random being wrong or critical of the team or qb or whatever.

its like Kevin Durant who cant stop battling randoms on twitter.

answer me this one question: why does it matter what a random former NFL player who has an outlet (and we all do with twitter and forums and stuff like that nowadays, everyone is a content creator, even my butthole is) thought ? why did it matter so much you remembered and found it ?

its often the same people who always bring up some content creators whom they hate...its like why ? why are you discussing them if you dont like them so much...

Brock was a good qb then to me and he is now, and I dont need anyone, literally anyone else, tell me that. I have eyes, I have watched football for several decades. I dont understand the need for validation

When talk show hosts and "analysts" are paid more money than you and I are to talk about this stuff, and they're so blatantly and objectively wrong, they should absolutely 100% be called out on it especially when the Internet is trying to erase it.

Accountability in our world needs to be encouraged more, no? Why are people so quick to label objective accountability as "insecurity"?

It's not like Jennings said Purdy wasn't the best QB in football. He suggested the 49ers should dump him for JUSTIN FIELDS. Tell me—who is Justin Fields starting for this season?

You probably watch more niner games than the guys who have to watch a lot of different games or are fans of other teams. I saw Jennings just a day or two ago talking about what a great qb Purdy has become. Most of us saw immediately how good Purdy was once he started playing, but we go out of our way to watch him because he is our qb.

fans care way too much about these sports channel yappers. they have absolutely no bearing on how the team performs or operates. sometimes the person yapping doesn't even believe the point they're trying to make. they're just paid to perform a specific side of a debate.

but it's kinda hilarious when some fans show they're emotionally affected by these talking heads. lol SanDiego.
Niners just need to win the damn Super Bowl. That way they can remove this damn stigma on Brock Purdy. It's the only way they'll shut up. A simple "he won the Super Bowl" will shut down any argument.

It feels like Brock's accuracy has improved this year. I think he's always been pretty accurate, but he seems even more consistent so far this season.

Was just about to post this. Another graphic showing what we're all watching. Purdy has been elite.
First of all that clip is 2024. A lot changed since then. It was wrong even then. That Purdy is not a difference maker. But bring in Justin Fields. Just wow. LOL. But if you look at 2026 Purdy has made big strides like Steve Young said. He's much better now and has taken a leap. Jennings has always been a Purdy hater though. You can't listen to him. He goes more on physical stats. Rather than reading, anticipation, timing, accuracy, layered throws. He doesn't like a Purdy type of QB. It's just his bias.
As someone who doubted Purdy up until he came back from injury last year, I will say he is the main reason this year feels different and why this team can take it all the way.

He is doing everything: taking what the defense gives him, attacking downfield, protecting the football, running for yardage, avoiding sacks, scrambling to make plays with his arm, and he's clutch in the 4th Q.

The team is not settling for FGs, even against the best defenses. That's the difference between winning and losing against the best teams, and Brock is a big part of that.
Drew Brees was on Cowherd this morning and he had high praise for Purdy and the Niners. He thinks they deserve to win the SB this year. He loves the grit they show with all the players they're missing.
