Not the same situation. The game was over and Brock had fought the good fight. Steve was pulled because Seifert wanted him to not take a beating in a game that was over when they had another game the next week and a long season ahead. Steve blew up because he perceived it as being blamed for the loss when that wasn't Siefert's intent at all. Brock had no such misconceptions about why he got pulled, as Shanahan clearly considered him one of the reasons they were able to be in that playoff game to begin with.
Steve was also in his 30s and had a mvp. Brock was 23 making 900k. Probably a good idea to not get into fights with the coach lol
This was this past game....Brock is 26 and has already signed his 265 million dollar contract. It's the last game of the season and the HC is pulling you with nearly a quarter left to play. I get it's a blowout but you don't pull your starter early in a playoff game.
Walsh pulled Montana in the 3rd quarter in the 1987 playoff loss to the Vikings. Which was an even worse situation for a QB to be pulled because the game was still within reach, down 27-10.
Brock was pulled with under 7 mins left down 41-6. The game was over.
Trying to turn this into some "Brock can never win a SB because he's a man baby" argument, or anything similar, is moronic.
