nobody said he didn't make important, difficult, good plays. But you can't throw 2 pics a game and play football in the NFL.

Purdy has thrown at least one pic in four consecutive games. Hopefully will break that streak next week.

Montana threw 3 in the Divisional

And 2 more in the NFCCG

In 1985 when they won the SB.

...and the defense bailed him out.

I never understood this kind of whatabout statements that woolick is bringing up…clearly different teams that could afford to do certain things.

Brock played great BUT man in some of those moments a sack, checkdown or throwing the ball away is the correct read. Can't turn the ball over vs Seattle. Especially when this team is not very great at creating them on defense.

I was replying to this dumb comment:

You absolutely can and I a provided an example to prove it. Not a Whataboutism.

The 49ers won so the team obviously could afford two picks.
Didn't you guys know that other QBs never get yds from dumpoffs/check downs (ignore Drake Mayes several checks downs to Stevenson for hugs gains last night)?

Another fun fact, other teams WRs go down after the catch. Only niners receivers like Robinson get yards after the catch.

One more thing, QBs tend to play their best against arguably the best defense in the NFL.

For example, Josh Allen not too long ago hung 12 pts on that defense, at home, in their loss to the Eagles.

MVP Stafford threw for 197 yds 57% comp. 80 qb rating in their loss. And that was with a bum supporting cast like Nacua, Adams and Co. he wish he had players like Robinson and Turner on his team.

Mahomes had his best game against that defense to the tune of 187yds 55% comp. 72 QB rating in their loss to the eagles

Brocks two INT were frustrating. The first INT should've never been thrown. The second INT was in part due to Mitchell's tug that let him under cut the pass. Remember the INT stout had against the Jags, in which he also undercut the pass, that was negated by PI. Mitchell's was probably more egregious.
either way, Brock needs to eat some of these plays and live to fight another down. Especially, on early downs.

I wonder if the wind affected this throw because it's really off the mark.

Quinyon Mitchell also got away with an egregious f**king hold there.

I don't know how the refs didn't see it. Mitchell grabbed Tonges's jersey and used him as some sort of a catapult to go get the ball.
He basically slowed Tonges and got this way the best position to make the play.
Now Purdy missed his throw and should have passed the ball to Juice who was open I think.

That was a missed call. I think it was stout that had an INT called back for less than what Mitchell did yesterday.
I was telling my wife that juice was open for a checkdown on that play as it was happening. Then the INT happen.
keep it rolling in Seattle Brock.
Not saying I want to see this a ton, but would really like to see a few read options run every now & then, maybe like 3 or 4 times a game to help open up the run game. Could really help if teams have to respect him pulling the ball from time to time even if it's say for like 4 or 5 yards.

I thought he played fairly well. I liked that he led the team down the field for a final drive for a TD against a pretty stout defense. 2 ints, but one was a missed call where the DB grabbed Tonges. I especially liked how it didn't bother him in the least....he just kept on rolling.
I've said it before but the reason purdy throws ints is similar to why he makes explosive plays: he's willing to make dangerous throws. You can't just say "stop throw the ints but still make those big plays". Just doesn't work that way in the long term but we've seen in the vacuum of a single game big plays + no turnovers. Hopefully we get that but you have to live with a gun slinger
You can't throw two pics per game on average and play in the nfl.

Good thing Brock averages less than 1 per game.

It would be nice if he learned to do that and have better discernment about when to take a chance and when to just eat it and take a sack or throw it away. I just think it might be his style/mindset that we're going to have to live and die with. Even if he doesn't ever change, I would still take that over the checkdown/scared QB types that we have had in recent years (that I used to defend). Purdy and his style, along with Kyle, give us a chance against any team.

lol

Basically Chris Simms in a nutshell.

It's like early Tom Brady and Joe Montana critics. Purdy would have to win a SB to shake those guys.
