QB Brock Purdy Thread

Then of course the middle will eventually be open.

What seemed to be open against the Seahawks were short passes over the middle, and corner routes. They covered up middle and the flats (why you saw their dbs blasting our check downs)... the middle defenders stayed disciplined and didn't move with Purdy's helmet.. just kept get depth, waiting for recievers to come back into the middle.

Mac would have gotten blown up though. Purdy barely survived, even with his pocket awareness and running ability.

Yea mac would have blown a knee or been concussed by halftime. Our line couldn't build a clean pocket consistently. Too dangerous.

Seattle game: "Brock, we're gonna need you to beat a top 5 defense, with no threat at the WR spot and with the starting left tackle out. Oh and we need you do this while being under duress in the pocket all night."

Sounds bout right.

We already saw Mac play vs a Seattle defense.
It was against the Texans. And he didn't fare any better than Purdy.

it's not Mac or Purdy. It's the playcalling. If Philip Rivers can find a way to pass through this Seattle D, then Kyle Shanahan should be able to devise a scheme that can as well. How about we move away from the same predictable offensive scheme an maybe try 2 TE sets, 2 RB sets, more screens, and less 5-7 step drop backs.

This is about what Allen and Herbert have been asked to do all year. Both have terrible O lines because of injuries and Allen has no quality WRs. The difference between those 2 and Purdy is they're big enough and talented enough to overcome those issues. Herbert has been sacked more than any QB and still managed to win a lot of games even when his hand was broken. Brock has a lot of good traits but because of physical limitations he can't be asked to take over a game without all his weapons and perform like these guys.

If they were big enough and talented enough to overcome a bad team then one of them would have a ring by now. They have both s**t the bed badly in games this season, what happened to all their size and talent in those games?
Is his right thumb okay? Wasn't as bad as it looked?

I mean… what are the Chargers/Bills records and what is our record? Why are we acting like Herbert/Allen already accomplished more than Purdy this season?

The playoffs literally haven't even begun ffs. This fanbase is something else.

Herbert threw for 80 yards against the Jags, but he's great and can overcome everything lol

Brock can never just have a bad game like the rest of the QBs do. It's always about his physical limitations in some people's minds

Niners ran 21 personnel more than anyone this yr, played 11 personnel at one of the lowest rates in the league.

top 12 in play action passing attempts, 15th in RPOs, and top 3 in pre-snap motion calls.

acting like Kyle is running a Martz offense full of 5-7 step drop backs is simply not true.

kinda s**tting on Brock?

I think more praising Mac.

Plus, Mac was a 1st round pick for a reason.

sounds like he's just saying mac should be in kyle's system to get the best of him

Well I guess he is implying that Purdy is a Really Good QB as well. I guess it is good to have 2 of those.

But I think their Skill Sets are quite different in the mobility department. I just wish Kyle used that during the Seattle game.
