The narrative is funny because prior to the game the talk was you don't need to invest heavy in WR because of Purdy. Now it's changed. Maybe just maybe he's a good QB but far from great.

A great QB would not have won last night with the WR's on this team. IMO

When were we saying we don't need wrs. We played last night with JJ and Bourne. Nobody is having sucked in that situation.

Purdy did what he was told yesterday, stay in pocket go through all 5 progressions. And he got killed, made no magic, but did not turn it over. The cmc bobble was not on Brock.
Prolly should have bailed sooner or have more unscripted keepers. Not sure why kyle didnt roll the pocket. Purdy loves to throw against the grain.
On to the next game. A short memory works for me. Enjoy the ride. Go niners.

Go back and look people were talking about it. Saying dudes like JJ and Ricky are fine and we don't need to spend 20 plus on a WR. I just don't get it. Does Brock need all pros or does he not? All I've heard the last few weeks was he's "back" he's "elite" again now. Does that only apply to defenses ranked in the bottom of the league?

1. Pearsall and Trent being out didn't help.
2. CMC let him down on the interception.
3. Kyle's game plan didn't help.
4. Seattle's defense played well.
5. Purdy played poorly.
All five things can be true
Doesn't mean we should trade Brock or anything extreme like that. There's some aggressive moves I would hope Lynch is ready to make this offseason regardless of how playoffs go but replacing our QB is not one of them.

I know you're trying really hard to argue that we need a new QB again (lol) and are mostly trolling so I'll just go ahead and make this nice and easy for you:
Pearsall is fine… when he's playing. He did not play last night.
Our top two WR's were Juan Jennings and Kendrick Bourne. Are they terrible individual players? No. But still arguably the worst WR1/WR2 duo in the playoffs if they end up being all we have.
Can you still beat meh defenses with them? Sure. Purdy beat up the Colts pretty well with them. But when you face a top 5 defense it's going to be a lot more difficult—regardless of who your QB is. An uphill battle. It just is. Maybe not impossible to win but extremely difficult.
And again this is regardless of who your QB is. Even Brady in 2019 couldn't win a playoff game with the WR corps that he had that season. His defense and OL weren't even bad that year.

Won 6 in a row i'm banking on this is just getting that loss out of the way before the playoffs. This team and QB can win on the road I don't think there are any teams in the east that are as tough as any team in the NFC west.

Against bottom feeders and the Bears with zero defense.

Rams lost to one of those bottom feeders

So did the Seahawks. I'm assuming we consider the Bucs a bottom feeder.

Don't worry he'll come right back at you about how the Bucs "destroyed" us in October when both teams looked completely different lol

I don't think Brock played poorly. The INT was a tipped pass. I replayed it in stop motion and you could see that the ball was intended to go to the pylon but when it was tipped it redirected back toward the inner part of the end zone. CMC had to re-adjust his path and reach back and down for the ball while still moving. That's a catchable ball but not an easy catch. The Seahawks defender was right on top of him to grab the ball.
The Seahawks defense was just too good yesterday. I don't blame Kyle's game plan either. What would you do differently that would have worked against that defense. They couldn't run. They couldn't find many open spots downfield. The O line without Trent was getting pushed around. The to top it off the Niners defense couldn't get any stops and the offense had to sit on the sidelines for long periods. Hard to get anything going from ther bench.

They don't need to spend $20+ mil on a receiver but they absolutely need more speed out there and not having Pearsall was brutal as he's the very best at getting open. Every QB needs good, reliable receivers, they don't need to be Top 5 receivers necessarily. Purdy knows the offense well enough and is capable of finding his targets when given time. Last night he was not given time at all.
