when we Pearsall, Jennings, Robinson, Bourne, Kittle, CMC - that's a damn good lineup, they compliment each other very well if everyone is healthy. The real issue has been just health.

im confident we beat the bears with Kittle but if he misses the game, thats a HUGE loss for our offense (run and pass game - Kittle gets a lot of attention).

BA is just a different player than Ricky. He's by far more physical after the catch and at the point of catch. He's better vs press and is a true X. better run blocker as well.

Didn't think he would go full AWOL, but here we are.

bourne's hands are a liability imo. Been bad this yr from what I've seen. WR and pass rush are gonna be tops of the list come draft/off season imo.

Yup. Having Ricky out there would obviously help...especially when it gets Bourne off the field. But Aiyuk is a true X. So frustrating that we paid the guy to finally lock in a true homegrown X with speed we haven't had IMO since TO and it went to sh*t so quick.

Agreed. Aiyuk is much better than Pearsall. But Aiyuk's attitude and energy are so bad that I'd rather have Mac Jones line up at WR than Aiyuk.
Exactly--well, mostly...

so fun watching Brock have fun out there, and 5 TD's?!? Thanks for the birthday present Brock!

I'm starting to have faith and belief we can win it all because of Purdy. This is very dangerous territory to be in. In all of Kyle's years as HC and all the successful seasons he's had, we never had to rely on the QB to be "the guy." It was always a strong supporting cast and then a competent QB.

We never relied on Jimmy on 2019. It was a strong running game led by Mostert and strong defense. 2023 was an insane offensive supporting cast led by CMC and insane defensive cast led by Bosa. This year...it's all Brock. It has to be. Some QBs transcend and go nuts in these types of moments. We'll see how Brock finishes in the playoffs

This is what I've been saying since he got paid. We paid Brock to be the guy that can elevate this team above inside and outside of Kyle's playcalling and do for our receivers what Brady did for his. Brock got paid to keep us on time and execute flawlessly and when a play is wrong make it right with his legs and ability to extend plays

He is right now doing exactly what he's paid to do and he's earning that contract. Every single penny of it

That's why it's so upsetting that Aiyuk is now likely healthy but chose to just abandon the team and his teammates. This offense with Aiyuk back would give us that extra push we still don't have. Hopefully we manage to get it done without him but it does suck knowing what this team could be with Aiyuk, Bosa, Mykel and Fred out there.

Obviously having Pearsall healthy over having him out makes our offense better. But having Pearsall instead of Aiyuk is absolutely a downgrade whether you like it or not.

And I know you put Kittle and CMC in the grouping, which is totally fair as they are extremely important to our passing game. But if we are being real, Pearsall, Robinson, Jennings, Bourne is a bottom tier WR group.

I'm not so sure that Aiyuk is much better. He had two good seasons when he was healthy. We haven't seen what Pearsall can do in a full season. His catch percentage and yards per catch is actually a little better than Aiyuk's were in his first 2 seasons and that's with Ricky being hurt all the time. That's his biggest issue. It's not lack of talent. He needs to be able to have a full healthy season to show what he can really do.

I'm sorry, but this is absurd. If you want to blame injuries, you do you. But Aiyuk is better at all facets of the game. At least he was.

Purdy destroys zone defenses. It's man coverage where they have struggled.

Well you need man beater receivers for that as well

100% I agree its more on them. That's what Ricky is for, but he hasn't been able to stay healthy.

Agreed. The WR group in isolation isn't very good.

It's a bummer, because Aiyuk, Pearsall, and Jennings would likely be a really solid WR corps. Aiyuk is probably on the field right now if York/Paraag hadn't stolen his money.

Or if he did what his contract expected him to do.

Maybe. Both sides should have focused more on doing what it took to get Aiyuk back on the field this season.

I love Deebo, but it's clear that he was handicapping the offense, both through his inability to run and win routes, as well as Shanny's obsession with making him and his motions a focal point of the offense.

The Deebo-heavy gameplan was easily suffocated by a top defense. We're now seeing a more pure version of a modern passing offense. Kittle, CMC, Jennings and Pearsall are more than enough.

I've been screaming this from the rooftops for a couple of years now. We needed to turn the offensive weapons/roster over from what was centered around Jimmy G (and his limitations) to Purdy (and his ability to buy time and make big plays). Our run blocking is not as good but our pass blocking has improved. And although we don't have any real star WR's we do have guys that can run routes (versus Deebo who was a fat RB playing WR). Now imagine if we can finally hit on a legit #1 WR in the draft at some point, and how much that would open up the passing offense.

Trent doesn't have to say all this. He means it because it's true. Not sure why someone in here has to "take it with a grain of salt" we all know Brock has the intangibles as a leader. He absolutely balled out last night. Nothing wrong with giving praise when it's earned. Brock has been playing good football.

He's said the same thing about Jimmy.

"I think Jimmy G is awesome," Williams said. "I think he has proven that he's a quarterback that you can win with. In this league, it's just hard to find. Quarterback is the toughest position and I think that's why you see the contracts where they are. Having a quarterback that you know is going to make the right read, the right throw, I think that has to allow Kyle (Shanahan), you know, give him a chance to sleep at night because just having a guy you know who won't throw the game away for you. You put him in the best position possible. He'll win."

This is not to take away from Brock's play. I'm a huge Brock supporter and am glad to see him execute with precision on the field. But to use Trent Williams quotes as a confirmation of how good a player is laughable. He's the ultimate team guy and will always support his QB making them look like a top tier guy.
