Why would you stop trusting something that is clearly efficient? That makes zero sense.

Maybe because the corner from clear on the other side of the formation is now jumping the plays. Idk maybe that might be a reason

Did Mac attempt very many passes more than 15 yards down the field? I think there was a stat that either he didn't attempt many or didn't complete any during his time here. It's easy to see why defenses wouldn't be jumping those routes if Mac didn't target them.

He was definitely attempting them less. Believe he was 4/16 (with 4+ drops) on passes 20 yards downfield.

To be fair, we also faced a string of good defensive teams and had a skeleton crew at WR. I promise you we didn't want Mac holding the ball against elite pass rushes like the Texans and Rams x2, even the Falcons, lol.

lmao. If you can't see how running an offense like that might start to deteriorate a player, then idk what to tell you.

Yeah or the QB could just throw with velocity and on time. Your point would stand if he did those things and still got picked, yet he didn't but somehow you are doing mental gymnastics to blame something else.

Could have been a big play.

Yet if you saw the play on time you get it there before he gets there. Backside defenders were trying to jump things back in 2023 too. It's called execution.

Okay, we'll see if a qb ever lasts in this offense

The homer mind cannot comprehend this. For them, the QB is responsible for all success and any failures are due to something or someone else. It's weirdly the one position that a large portion of the fanbase refuse to have an honest discussion about.

It's not unique to our fanbase. This happens with every team when the QB isn't either clearly a star or a bad player. Time is going to give us the answers.

It's actually called they know what you're doing and you need to switch it up. You need to be the one that helps reel your qb in, not continue to ask for perfect execution through struggles

Just admit you don't know what you're talking about. Try to focus on the actual play instead of your own conjecture about why Brock has the second highest INT % in the league since 2023. Yes, that's even counting his 2023 season.

Since people seem to being using Brock's struggles against Carolina as an excuse to bash Jimmy, I thought I'd let Matt Stafford weigh in on the topic.

"Stafford was asked after the Rams' win over Tampa Bay about where his joy and positivity come from, naming Garoppolo as the catalyst for their success after he steered the ship during training camp and for a large portion of preseason."

"I thought what (QB) Jimmy (Garoppolo) did in training camp with our group was awesome and the way he kept those guys rolling and he played great and gave us that good momentum going into it, and then I just picked up where he left off, so I got to give him a ton of credit for what he was able to do. And when you're without something like that and then you get the chance to go back and do it, it sure is a whole lot of fun and obviously it's a lot of fun winning ball games and helping other guys get in the end zone."

Jimmy had his limitations as a QB but the things that he accomplished with the team shouldn't be underestimated. Kittle said at his presser after the last game that Brock and Jimmy were the best QBs he's played with. Granted that might represent a small sample size, but I'm assuming it includes his HS and College QBs as well as guys like Lance and Hoyer, who I think George was here for.

Arik Armstead was asked once why the locker room supported him so much and he said that before Jimmy came along, his (Armstead's) career with the Niners had been one of constant losing and so the team was glad to finally have a QB who could help them win games. Jimmy's tragedy with the 49ers was that he missed that throw to Sanders, and the majority of the posters in this forum never forgave him for it. Though oddly enough, they seem to think Kaepernick throwing an interception at the end of the game against Baltimore was just a "bad break". Go figure.

He threw an interception in the 1st half. You might be mixing up this game with the Seattle matchup in the NFCCG.

You're right. But the broader point is that Kaepernick had it first and goal at the seven I think, down by four and had that incompletion to Crabtree, but that failure, the first Super Bowl loss in 49er history by the way, didn't seem to result in anywhere near the same kind of scathing condemnation that Jimmy got. Just saying.

Basic execution*. That's what those plays required to be successful.

That's because he played a lot better in big games than Jimmy did… and I still think he got plenty of s**t, lol.

I guess Kurt Warner doesn't know what he's talking about either. There's clear issues with this passing offense. If it's an offense that guys like Peyton or Brees or Manning would never run, then it's probably flawed

Actually would've taken perfect execution just to beat the back side corner from making the play lol. I'm sorry but that's a play that needs some retooling
