Time for a return of the Mac! Last two seasons have proved Brock's come back down to earth. Following Jimmy's trajectory. Mediocre QB at best with weak arm. Hearing same excuses that were made for Jimmy. Now he's a perpetual back up.
I'm not saying these guys are great, but I think this offense makes things worse when the struggles come, which then just kills the QB. I see the same thing happening to Mac after they figure out what him and Kyle do. I don't care how much Aikman and Collinsworth suck Kyle off, I trust the former QBs and coaches that aren't fans of the passin game
Some of you seriously undermine the weaknesses in Jimmy and Purdy's games. Shanahan has made guys like Jimmy and Mac look better here than anywhere else. Jimmy was an absolute disaster after leaving, while I remember a lot of our fans expecting he would "excel and make Shanahan look like he was the problem". How did that turn out?
It's not the coach's fault that the QB has a limited arm, or a tendency to make poor decisions.
Placing minimal accountability on the player making the most money on the team seems odd when all other players and coaches are subject to routine. Sounds like fans avoiding an uncomfortable reality given the importance of the QB position.
I'm saying try something different or bench the guy. Don't just keep walking them to their doom with plays the defenses are literally waiting for at this point

Or the guy can execute the offense that is 7th in DVOA vs the 2nd toughest defensive schedule

Doesn't take much research to see how many good and great QBs have had multi int games in their career. Even our own Montana.
Now if it continues that would warrant the stronger takes.
My not so humble opinion, they absolutely are, classic Zoner overreaction. Lol what would social media be like in Montana days? Lol I don't even wanna know.
Those were the good days of football, before politics, before internet, before all the lame ass superbowl shows. I have watched maybe two of those fully and can't even remember which ones they were lol.

Correct. It's selective hearing, and ultimately an opinion anyway. He also has pointed out Brock's limitations and the support he's had around him (as well as his strengths - like anticipatory passing).

That's not all lol. Kyle does some good stuff, never said he doesn't. He just can't seem to adjust. We see it everywhere with this offense. Even stroud started out hot and is trending down. It's a nice system overall, but the passing game can't stand alone and that's a problem

With one of the worst run games in the league as well, which is obviously unusual for our coach.

It can't when the qb is late with the throws for sure.

Every qb will get there with enough time. Happens to all them. Has absolutely nothing to do with the offense they all run though

On January 10, 1982, Joe Montana threw three interceptions and lost a fumble, before the final drive that ended with Dwight Clark's famous catch.
You're welcome.

At this point he's broken, so no. Just has to find a way to trust in the offense again and let it rip like he used to, but that's not easy when the plays are getting jumped from every direction

So how is it that it re-sets every time there is a new QB?

Since people seem to being using Brock's struggles against Carolina as an excuse to bash Jimmy, I thought I'd let Matt Stafford weigh in on the topic.
"Stafford was asked after the Rams' win over Tampa Bay about where his joy and positivity come from, naming Garoppolo as the catalyst for their success after he steered the ship during training camp and for a large portion of preseason."
"I thought what (QB) Jimmy (Garoppolo) did in training camp with our group was awesome and the way he kept those guys rolling and he played great and gave us that good momentum going into it, and then I just picked up where he left off, so I got to give him a ton of credit for what he was able to do. And when you're without something like that and then you get the chance to go back and do it, it sure is a whole lot of fun and obviously it's a lot of fun winning ball games and helping other guys get in the end zone."
Jimmy had his limitations as a QB but the things that he accomplished with the team shouldn't be underestimated. Kittle said at his presser after the last game that Brock and Jimmy were the best QBs he's played with. Granted that might represent a small sample size, but I'm assuming it includes his HS and College QBs as well as guys like Lance and Hoyer, who I think George was here for.
Arik Armstead was asked once why the locker room supported him so much and he said that before Jimmy came along, his (Armstead's) career with the Niners had been one of constant losing and so the team was glad to finally have a QB who could help them win games. Jimmy's tragedy with the 49ers was that he missed that throw to Sanders, and the majority of the posters in this forum never forgave him for it. Though oddly enough, they seem to think Kaepernick throwing an interception at the end of the game against Baltimore was just a "bad break". Go figure.

I think what worries folks is, these INTs happened against the Panthers. It worry folks about what will happen against better defense..and a team would a good offense where we might need to air it out.
There was one "almost INT", which I felt was a bad decision...but these other INTs were just bad passes, so hopefully he takes advantage of these next few weeks to figure it out before we finish with three straight games against some of the best teams in the league.

He threw an interception in the 1st half. You might be mixing up this game with the Seattle matchup in the NFCCG.
