People say that, but the truth is that injuries do impact how players perform. Look at Warner last year with the ankle injury, Puni this year, Pearsall now. If the goal is to actually understand why a player might be struggling rather than just be a hater, injuries and health should be taken into account.
As far as expectations go, I don't think people were criticizing Brock any less when he was making peanuts last year.
And he was being criticized because of the inconsistency over the course of a full season. Again this isn't a one off game where you point to an injury that he himself said wasn't an issue…like others have said no one was talking about the injury being a problem last week.
how about we have some accountability for our QB? Instead of excuse after excuse. That s**t is so nauseating.
One would think you should be improving the more football you play and I'm not sure we can safely say that with Brock right now. His expectations are higher given the salary and that shouldn't be some debatable thing.
This. Our fans have been comically reluctant to criticize QBs, yet they have no problem bashing other players when they screw up. Remember the Jimmy G fans yelling "he just wins, what more do you want" while the rest of us could see with our own eyes that he was not it.
i have more hope for Brock than I did for JG, but he is not trending in a good direction. His inability to protect the football are not a 1 or 2 game issue, they have been happening since last year.
Some fans would rather pretend that's not the case because it makes them uncomfortable to accept the possibility that we may not have our franchise QB yet. They like to live in this made up world where the team is "set" at the QB position, and any struggles are due to the OL, receivers, defense, coaching, bad luck, great opponent, etc.
