Oh please, maybe if Brock could throw an accurate ball with some velocity he'd have another TD instead of a pick. Ricky has no problem getting open.

Yeah listen, I'm always down to defend Brock but let's keep it real here. He missed throws that were there to be had. He'll own up to it so why are we tearing down other guys to argue that he wasn't terrible with those throws?

Guys have bad games and Brock will have a chance to show that's not how it will be. I certainly hope he does but there won't be too many cake games for him to do that.

Pearsall was definitely getting open but Brock missed him. The idea that Bourne is better isn't serious.

Brock played very poorly yesterday. There really is no excusing it. Panthers D isn't terrible but we should've been dicing them up with the injuries they had.

Just one of those games...it's all about bouncing back and shaking it off mentally.

Of course the problem is...Cleveland's defense. I hope Brock gets back on track cuz we cannot turn the ball over in that game and hope to win IMO. It will be a low scoring game since we always struggle vs those defenses and odds are Brock will be getting hit while throwing so his decisions better be on point.

I can't unsee some of his throws. I now expect any throw between the hash, downfield, to be picked. Purdy Traumatic Stress Disorder.

Let's face the facts. This entire season has been a series of stops and starts with constant reshuffling on both offense and defense. Every time some player comes back from injury another one goes out. It certainly helps that the Niners have played alast place schedule but Kyle and Saleh have done a great job considering all the injuries. How many players are on this team with some even starting who weren't on the roster when the season started?

That's not what happened. We were less aggressive in the 2nd half because the Panthers were not showing any signs of life on offense. We came into the game expecting a shootout and it became clear by the end of the half that the Panthers weren't able to put things together on offense like they did the week before.

We attempted only 1 pass over 10 yards in the 2nd half, certainly gives the impression the handcuffs were on after 3 first half INT's

and what is wrong with that.

I don't see how people can see Pearsall have only 3 catches for 6 yards over the last 2 games and think that's all on Purdy. He's clearly not the same guy he was at the start of the season. Purdy had no problem targeting him against the Seahawks. The knee injury is clearly still affecting him.
The amount of mental gymnastics being used to defend a s**t game from our QB is f**king stupid. He played poorly. Why is everything an excuse when he plays bad, but all him when he plays well?

brock has not been a consistent QB since 2023. This isn't a one time thing. He's gotta get his s**t together and play better. Plain and simple. Take care of the football, facilitate, use your legs and when the opportunity shows itself, take that big play.

that first drive was great, he played point guard and moved the ball downfield.

You do realize that where you finish only accounts for 3 games right. This year those 3 games are NYG, CLE and CHI. We've only played one of thoss teams so far. So it hasn't really "helped" yet. Throw in the Bears are currently in 1st place so that's not exactly an advantage either.

The second int was absolutely a poor decision. There was room to scramble for the first and Kittle was there as well.

That would have been the better way to go but he did have Pearsall so the read isn't awful all things considered. It was just terriblely under thrown. Not an easy throw though given the situation and absolutely should have just hit kittle for high percentage completion and first down.
I'd rather he just take those yards with his legs or dump it to Kittle then attempt some high risk off balanced pass.

The part I love is the toe excuse. Especially from the ones who down play what Mac did who was playing on one leg.
He got lucky with some bad throws vs arizona, not lucky last game

He's probably still rusty from missing so much time

Last week nobody was saying his toe was still a factor. What we see are people defending a QB they like. It's hard for some to see faults in a person they like. At the same time they often tend to go overboard when he plays well.

Last night doesn't change my opinion of Brock which has always been that he's good enough to play in Kyle's system and can look very good at times. He's just not what I would call elite. His flaws likeheight and lack of a realy string arm tend to pop up from time to time. Hey also has that tendency to try and do more than his physical skills will allow. He still needs to learn to play more consitently and not try to do too much. The first drive was a lot of short quick throws mixed in with some runs. That's how this team can win.

Mac doesn't move at all anyways, he'd be fine with no legs. Turf toe is a huge deal, especially for mobile QBs like Lamar, Allen, Purdy, etc.

I agree 100%

Exactly. You play the game that you're in.

Brock is a good pocket QB with some escapability but he's non dual threat like Lamar or Allen. Stats and physical ability show this.
