Just be safe with the ball. Turnovers will really hurt this team more now than ever with the defense mostly depleted.

I hope the Oline affords Brock the same protection it afforded Mac with last Sunday against the Rams.

I don't like playing him, Purdy should be resting until his toe is 100%, that includes not practicing. worst case scenario, he's risking his career being out there.

I think it's a mistake to play Brock. This is a lost season anyway. What's being accomplished by playing him? I see way more downside than upside but whatever, Kyle's got his reasons.
I remember how he looked against the jags. Underthrows. Overthrows. Holding on to the ball too long. If he starts out like that is there any way Kyle yanks him? Man, I just don't see any reason why he's out there. If he reinjures himself in a pointless game during a pointless season that just all seems so stupid.
Hopefully the play calling allows him to get into a rhythm early

Lost? 6-4 with a slate of games coming up that they have a very good chance of winning, especially as they seem to be getting healthier on offense? Even if you cede them losses to Seattle and the Colts, who are play pretty well, they could finish 11-6 which would probably get them into the playoffs. How far will they go if they get there without Bosa, Warner, and Williams? Who knows, but that's why they play the games. But perhaps your definition of pointless is any season in which they don't win the Super Bowl.

We have the most conservative training staff and doctors and I don't see them risking his career by playing.

Brock's interview yesterday he said the team doctors didn't think his injury was severe enough to warrant surgery and he just needed the rest. We will see how he does, but pro football in general, especially late in the season everyone has at least a little something not 100% unless they're backups
Larry Krueger talking about Brocks mechanics and lower body not driving on his throws. Just took 5 minutes to look up his college highlights and he has always kinda thrown of his front foot. How do these "professional" journalists spout off at the mouth without doing their research?

Not worth really arguing with some of the people here on that front. To them, unless we're completely healthy and go wire to wire as a dominant #1 seed it's not worth bothering with the playoffs.

Kudos to Mac Jones for how well he's played the last two months but, as JonnyDel points out in this clip, Brock brings a little something extra to the table,

Since you wanted to post it twice with pride.

Jonny please show us plays where Mac is making the more correct decision than Brock. Oh wait, is Brock perfect and he doesn't make the wrong decsions?

No... so it's ridiculous to just show one example and come to a conclusion.

But about Brock, the issue isn't will he make better decisions than Mac... it's will he do it more consistently, like in those 2022/2023 seasons. Just have to hope for the best.

I agree with some of the critical posts about starting him. Kyle already said that he regrets starting him against the Jags cause it messed up his toe more. Some posters in here were saying to rest it more and not start him vs Jags. But he starts him anyway. It was ridiculously stupid. Kyle is no genius sorry. Now they wanna have him go and it's not healed.

We have no defense, we aren't going to the SB, why risk stuff? Is it worth potentially risking his career? Shanny does realize this is the best qb we have had in over three decades, shouldn't we treat him like gold? We've been waiting a long ass time for a dude like this. What is the point of starting him when we have Mac doing as well as he is? It's not like we have Lance or Allen in the qb room anymore. If this backfires..Shanny/Lynch need to find another team to manage (or mismanage) and coach.

If he's healthy, Purdy needs to start....cause if he's ready to go and doesn't, that sends a bad message throughout the lockerroom.

As for what posters were saying.....yeah....I'm gonna take some people on this forum over the knowledge and insight of the coaches and doctors on the 49ers? Ever stop to think that is was Purdy himself who told Shanahan he was ready to roll against the Jags?

Um no I do not expect them to make a decision over what some ppl posted. Was making a point. Having him in the Jags game was careless. Yes, I do know Purdy is a competitor and pushes himself. This is when coaches need step in and say no, we're not doing that. It's about protecting the players.

Well, if you wanted to take the time to watch, he actually did an hour-long podcast on the topic. I only posted this short one because I figured most people wouldn't want to spend an hour watching something on a fan forum. As they used to say on TV, the truth is out there, so you're free to track down the whole video if you like. Unfortunately, he doesn't mention Trey Lance once during the whole thing, so it may not be of interest to you. It's also not a knock on Jones, who has been everything you could want out of a back-up and who, as I have said on couple of occasions, has literally helped save the season this year. It just shows what Brock brings to the table that maybe Jones doesn't.
