From my limited knowledge of turf toe it could be 3-5 weeks or season ending. That's why I was so concerned when it was diagnosed, but if Mac is gonna have to hold down the fort, Shanny needs to game plan quick passes to make up for weak protection and an immobile QB.

Yeah, I was also concerned when Purdy mentioned, "It's so annoying, never had anything linger this long." And I was like well, s**t. Worse than your arm being snapped in half and in terminator cast thingy? They should have not played him in the Jags game! Duh! I just can't believe it.

May not see him the rest of the season
I actually believe this is not a level 2 Turf Toe, but a level 3 and the Niners were hoping rest and PT would heal it. A level 2 is a few weeks out, and Purdy has been out longer, is limited in his practicing and is still having issues. All that points to a level 3 and that is surgery since it is not healing. If he needs the surgery let's get it done so he can come back next year. Jones will have to be the man this year . . .

If it were level 3, he would've had surgery weeks ago. Burrow got surgery done the moment they figured out it was level 3.

You're thinking one level too high. They likely hoped it was level 1 but are finding out it's more like level 2.

If it happens to be level 3 this whole time, then nevermind all the other injury issues. That alone would be a reason to fire our whole training staff again.

Nah, that would have landed him on IR where he couldn't at least get some light reps in with the guys to stay sharp.
he's not going to play this year, or he'll play a game-have a set back then theyll shut it down officially . Over it

Brock Purdy should not play at the Metlife Stadium. That would be stupid.
We gotta deal with what we have now but something needs to happen on the injury/team doctor front going into next year.

I really want to know how we green lit Purdy to go back in for the Jags game. Even if he was healthier than Mac that week if we really diagnosed him with turf toe like injury...having him play week 4 was a huge gamble and not a huge shocker it backfired not only in Brock's performance but delaying his ability to come back healthy.

Yeah, who the heck gave the green light? Should be fired. Doesn't even make sense. Some of us were hesitant about throwing him in there, seemed early. This ain't Vegas, you don't throw 265 million on the black jack table and say, "Yeah, let's hope it turns out alright, it should be fine." lol. Brock may have tried to push himself and that is where "professionals" are supposed to come in and say, "Sorry man, we gotta shut you down for a bit, better safe than sorry." No, they were like, "Oh let's just put this metal plate in your shoe, the foot you plant on when you throw..think of it like it's a lucky penny." Why gamble with turf toe? I am guessing it may have been that level one, after Jags, level two. Maybe we can see if we can get it to level three during practice lol.
The longer he is gone, the more it's bringin' on the heartbreak
