No, Juice was not "open for 5-10 yards." Watch from the side. Juice is standing 2 yards behind the LOS with a defender close by. He'd have been lucky to get 2-3 yards. Farrell is 2 yards past the LOS with a defender right on him.
These guys are arguing for 2nd and 7, Jimmy G style of play. Some fans just like to complain and be miserable. Don't fall for it.
No he's not. Watch here and pause at :04 when Purdy decides to throw. Juice is 2-3 yards behind the LOS. He is not getting 5-10 yards on that play. His back is turned and he has zero up field momentum. Same with Farrell, although he's 2 yards past the LOS so he'd probably get 3-4 max because the defender is closing in.
PICK! The @Jaguars defense with their 11th takeaway of the season

We do not want a 2nd and 7 QB again.
That one is on CMC. Gotta catch that.
Purdy threw some turds but not this one IMO.
That was a horrible pass.

Do you ever think through the things you say, lol? The implication here is that it's not ok to have a 2nd and 7 or 2nd and 6. A completely normal situation for NFL offenses, including those with truly great QBs and elite talent.
Oh well. We forced a bad pass and got a 1st and 10 for the opposing team's offense instead. Jimmy G style.
Calling this a Jimmy G style play is comical. Under no circumstance is Jimmy making that attempt. He dumps it off for 2 yards and misses a big play. This was a touchdown if CMC catches it. Kyle said that as well.

If you think there are 20 qbs better than Brock right now you are completely lost.

Pass should've been caught but throwing high in the middle usually leads to one of two things, a catch or a tipped ball. I'm more disappointed in the fumble as he had enough time and should've protected the ball at that stage in the game.

Forcing passes, inaccurate balls, leaving receivers exposed in the middle of the field… that's very much Jimmy G's style of play.
I'm sure it would have been a nice gain had it been completed though. Can say that about many poorly executed and ill advised throws.

Here's Kyle's comments for reference. Pretty obvious theme in the context of this discussion.

For those of u that watch EVERY game is there any QB that has to make more tough throws within structure of offense than #BrockPurdy? The degree of difficulty when they aren't dominating in run game is extremely high IMO - am I the only one??

Exactly. Can't believe there are posters in here crying for Purdy to play like "2nd and 7" Jimmy G.

Honestly, if Purdy had Kittle and a healthy Aiyuk, he beats them down 10 outta 10 times. Yes, I'm pretty upset that Purdy has thrown all these interceptions. But I'm more worried about the pass rush and that teams have been running the football down the defenses throat. And no the defense was not to blame yesterday, I'm just thinking about future teams who pass a lot.

Yea, we haven't faced a good offense yet. Get a pretty good test this week. Familiar opponent though at least.

Hit his hands.
After he jumped and stretched and lunges forward to get a hand on it. Also could have got him hurt. Hospital balls on the middle of the field.

Agree on the defense part, but the reason they paid Purdy that money is to make up for defense deficiencies with his play. I don't think he is that kind of player that elevates the play of others.

Watching the replays, so many of his throws were way too high. Why is he so bad at placing the ball way above the receivers? Maybe his height in comparison to the d-lines, but he has to get his ball placement in check.
In both games you've seen those jump passes where he's trying to get it over the linemen's heads. At least 1 INT was tipped at the line for a pick anyways, right?
