Wait til we actually play a good offense.

Well FWIW the Rams are -3.5 right now. We gonna get smashed in LA.

I fear what Stafford Is gonna do to our defense

Lawrence only, and I say only, put up 26 with 4 turnovers and a punt return TD he didn't even have to do anything for. If we play that way against the Rams especially with that....pass rush...that was out there, Stafford will eat our butts for supper. 4 course meal including a dessert wine.

So we held a generational talent at QB to essentially only 19 points, but people are worried about old man Stafford?

Hopefully Brock's toe is a little better on Thursday. It probably won't be fully healed until after the season.

I'm not being sarcastic this is an honest question. Are we giving him an excuse for any bad play in the future due to the sore toe?

I think the toe will need to be taken into account when evaluating him for the rest of the season.

Naw. He will be judged on his play and that is it.

I think there is more nuance to evaluating the QB position than that. He's dealing with more injuries and his only healthy receivers are guys like Bourne, Skyy Moore, and Jake Tonges. Is he really being put in a situation to succeed?

He isn't making plays or throw to succeed. No excuses, he got paid, needs to produce or the fan base will turn on him. He isn't making the minimum taking the league by surprise anymore with a loaded roster.

It doesn't matter how much you're being paid if your toe hurts and won't let you play at your usual level.

I will say, his turnovers are too consistent for them to be a one-off thing. The constant looking for the best play in non-vital situations is annoying when it ends up in a huge mistake.

The margins are slimmer this year and last year and when it comes to that, I hate to say it...but he always has propensity for turnovers. I actually hoped that this game having a ton of checkdowns would at least make him mistake-free...because Jags force turnovers. And yet in a game where we barely went downfield for a big play we had 3 turnovers just off Brock. I mean yikes. Yes he appeared to still be injured and had bad footwork and was sailing passes left and right, all high...but still this is an issue that has been ongoing.

Still think hes a good qb, but his decision making and turnovers will be his downfall if he has one.

His decision making was supposed to1 be a strong point. Lastbyear and so far thisbyesr its been terrible. It's like he's allergic to just throwing the ball away

I like Brock, liked him dating back to college. I'm probably gonna get a lot of flack for what I'm about to say but the way I felt about Moody when the game was on the line, is the same feeling I have any time Purdy is forced to come from behind. Fantastic QB when the offense is firing on all cylinders and has all his weapons. But with the exception of the Green Bay and Detroit playoff games, he just doesn't seem to be clutch and if anything becomes almost reckless (bad int's, fumbles, forces passes that aren't there instead of taking what the defense is giving him). That said the Detroit and GB games give me hope he can do it, particularly when the lights are brightest.

I mean the ball bounced off the DBs facemask in the Detroit game lol

Let's put it like this for me I am put back by the play of this entire offense play calling Quarterback play WR play etc it's been terrible. Special teams included. The defense is the only bright spot I see several rookies playing on defense better than most veterans on offense.

Agree. Very good post

I would not be surprised if we kick ass Thursday. Weird game. I fully expect Kyle to rip some new a*****es this week and nobody gonna want to go thru that again. I will hold judgement till Thursday night..a win and it's a clean division sweep so far and this game can be buried for now.

Fans were criticizing him like crazy for letting a "minor toe injury" keep him from playing and now some of those same fans are criticizing him for trying to play through it. It seems like there's nothing he can do that won't be heavily criticized now that the fanbase has turned on him.

That injury takes a long time to heal. Remember, the initial projection was 4+ weeks that he would be out. The fact he came back early will invite questions every time he makes a high throw.

Kyle went with his #1 guy based on a healthy report. It is how it works.

Hurt or not, you only have a certain amount of time in the NFL before you are replaced. You are replaced because of how you play while in a game.

Also, when he is done playing football, there won't be a special note about the games he played hurt, he will be judged on his stats and what he won.

He's 49er fan enemy #1 until he wins a SB.

Salad days are over. Win now or get lost, Brock. You bum.

Ricky and JJ are both hurt again. Kyles offense needs receivers familiar with system. Rams D will pin ears back and attack. Could be embarrassing night for SF.

With our pass rush, Stafford and Mayfield are gonna sit back and pick us apart.

We can't get rid of him until 2027.

He is nothing without the supporting cast. I hate that it's become abundantly clear.. the haters who said this have been proven right..

I don't know why people couldn't see this after last year's play. I like Purdy. Seems like a good dude. He's definitely a NFL caliber QB but he's far from a franchise QB which is what this team needs now the defense isn't elite and the offense lacks explosive players. Everyone is old. Kittle, CMC, Trent, Juice.

Last year I was saying Brock looked like nothing more than a mobile Jimmy G.

He looks even worse now. I'd be in favor of benching him for Mac if this continues.

I mean Big Mac was mostly crap until there were 2 minute drives.

Its hard to believe we'll win. We didn't hit Lawrence once and had most of the day to throw. Staffard has Nacua and Adam's. Nacua averages nearly 100 yes a game I believe. Adam's is gonna be covered by rookie Stout?
