Did anyone besides biggest homers really think this is an elite team ? An elite team doesnt struggle for two years in the redzone to punch in TDs...
This was tabbed by everyone to be a rebuilding year. Fortunately (or unfortunately depending on your view) our schedule is quite easy so they could make the offs if they catch a few breaks here and there.
I think my concern is more on offense rebuilding than defense. Defense wise I can still see a path. These young guys making mistakes but theyre baptized by fire. You can see the vision of stopping the run up front with lots of speedy fast and good tackling on the backside.
I see no vision for offense now. I have seen it in 2019 and 2022/23. A bully running team in 2019/2022 and a finesse, high level playmaker, smashmouth team in 2023
Theyre not a run first team, they are not a good pass offense. What are they ?
Guys like Juice, Trent, CMC and even Kittle will be very old very soon. Theres no real future there. The team should be preparing to pass the baton at those positions and ease some new blood in, yet it just keeps on postponing it. Defense has ripped the bandages off this year. Time for offense to do it next year, as the schedule will be tough (AFC west lol). Should been forcing guys like James and Watkins in...yet we got old guys like Bourne who have no business playing here for the future.
