San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Ricky Pearsall missed his second straight practice this week, with just one remaining, as the team prepares for its Monday night matchup against the Indianapolis Colts. Pearsall suffered an ankle injury in Sunday's win over the Tennessee Titans and later aggravated his previous PCL injury.
Head coach Kyle Shanahan joined Bay Area radio station KNBR on Friday and suggested that Pearsall could still be available for the Week 16 matchup, even if he doesn't practice this week.
Of course, that wasn't the case earlier in the season, when Pearsall was working his way back from the initial PCL injury. In that case, practice time was a more significant factor in determining his availability.
"No, he doesn't need a full practice," Shanahan said. "I mean, not at all. If Ricky was able to fully show everything just on Sunday, I would feel good with that. I [felt] a little different at that last time because he had been out a month and ended up being out longer than a month. So that was totally different. You can't just have a guy come back after that much time off.
"But Ricky's been practicing here the last month. He's been good to go. He had a setback with his injuries, hasn't been able to go here the last two days, but we'll hold out hope all the way until Monday that it'll heal up and give him a chance to play."
The 49ers and Colts kick off Monday at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.
