That was the worst performance I've seen from a Niner starter since I can't remember.

You must have a very poor memory then.

WORST PERFORMANCE ??

1987 Playoff againts the Vikes
1994 Regular Season game against the Eagles when Charlie ran all over us and Stevo came out firing on George!!

Its always sky high or right to a defender

I've never been this upset over a loss in years. What makes it even more difficult to accept is that the highest paid player on the team is squarely responsible for the loss. He was god awful. I personally cannot stand Brock Purdy.

Really?

The recent playoff losses were far more upsetting. This is Week 4 and the first loss of the season. A worse team would have lost this game 38-6.

Lost turnover battle 4-0
Gave up PR TD
Couldn't run the ball
Allowed a 100 yd rusher

It was commendable they stayed in the game despite continually slamming the hammer down on their own thumb.

Not all on Purdy. His receivers failed him for most of the game.

What about the time he almost got D Rob and JJ kiled
and they still caught the ball? He was let down once by KB but he made up for it

He is nothing without the supporting cast. I hate that it's become abundantly clear.. the haters who said this have been proven right..

The lack of weapons is a BIG deal. Not a single healthy WR on the team. Tonges is the closest and he has a nick.

Listen, you can't make this excuse for a year and a half, I'm sorry. Purdy has been nothing more than mediocre for a looooong stretch. He isn't getting better, and when you make the money he makes, you need to start carrying the team.

That's just not realistic. No QB has ever done that.

No QB has ever carried a team despite injuries to his star players? Are you kidding?

Nope. He always needs help from his OL and the skill players around him. He doesn't pass it to himself. He doesn't block for himself. He usually isn't the one running the ball.

And they usually need a defense to keep a game close.

So yeah, I stand by my statement.

Hyperbole gets you absolutely nowhere. There's an enormous difference between what you're saying and what my point is, and you know that.

I hope Brock can do the same Steve did the rest of the year.

it's not B-ROCK.. it's that SAME play, defenses have now learn how to just sit on that while the LBs are just looking if any WRs are making a cut to run a crossing pattern..
I've said it and I'll keep saying it. Been a fan since 1972 and I've seen good 49er teams, great 49er teams, elite 49er teams and average and below average teams. This is in no way an elite team, and I would currently rate it as slightly below to an average team. There is no way that even if the 49ers make the playoffs they are going past their first game. Purdy isn't showing he was worth the money and honestly, I don't think Shanahan cares. I think Shan thinks he can take anyone and make them good. These Niners are either too young or too old and lacking depth. I don't expect on Thursday that they will be ready for the Rams and I think it is asking way too much on those drafted this year to step up their first year in the NFL and be above average or elite players.

Again, the burden is on Purdy to show that he was worth that contract. I have never felt Purdy could put this team on his shoulders and lead carry them. He needs other great to elite players around him and without them at 100%, he shows exactly what he is. I also agree his injury really impacted him. The result is I do not think this team is going anywhere and to quote Jim Mora, ""Playoffs? You kidding me? Playoffs?! I just hope we can win a game!" Yes the Niners are 3-1 but I would expect that to be 3-2 after Thursday and from there, the only redeeming hope they have is their schedule. I see them at 3-3 after the next two games. I could see a 10-6 or even an 11-5 record but that is the scary thing. That record won't reflect how good this team is, only that they had an easy schedule. It is how they do to some of the harder teams here that will show if they can actually win in the post season, something I do not have confidience in at this time with Purdy leading them and the injuries they have.

Either the WR's and OLine are making Purdy look bad or he's playing too much hero ball.

I'm upset you're upset.

If youre losing sleep over a game like this after an 0-3 SB stretch dunno what to say. The hangover is real and is going to be another 1-2 years.
His WR corps is ATROCIOUS, PITIFUL, PATHETIC, HORRENDOUS
Team fell apart but Brock looked horrible and played horribly. He is capable of much better and needs to start showing it. Qb2 looks much better on the field…. That is a problem.
If Brock is a good guy then he should give the niners some money back … he sure didn't deserve it today.

Yeah the play that got Ricky hurt was late too

Ricky, JJ, and Robinson all suited up today. He nearly got all three of them killed.
