Lynch says they're making some progress. What that means is anyone's guess. Does it mean they actually sat down and talked? Was it a phone call? Did they agree on one of the sticking points? Who Knows.

you put incentives in there. that way he gets the top dollar if he hits the incentives. so less downside if he doesn't max out, we save coin. it almost makes too much sense. or cents, if we want to get financial.

Progress being made reads to me that they're optimistic, but cautious, that a deal gets done in the next few weeks.

Florio stated on the RE show that he expects a deal to be done before OTA's. He stated that he does not see Purdy risking an injury in OTA's. The 18:50 mark

When Brock signs that big contract he's going to be under a lot of pressure to live up to it. Pressure he hasn't felt so far. Now he'll be getting pressure from fans and the press as well as the opposing defense.

it is what it is... it's the position he's under... so far he's earned everything he's gotten to this point.. the 49ers need stop looking at who he was and where he was drafted, the dude took us to the Super Bowl and no one ever saw that..

And if that GTD total is too high should things go in the direction, firing the staff suddenly becomes an option if we aren't doing good. Doesn't matter what Paraag did or didn't do. So they have to be cautious for their own sake.
