Well sure....in a perfect world, I'd love for Purdy to never get hit, to get TD's with every drive, roll every team into the dirt by half-time, etc. etc.....but that's not the reality. In today's NFL, 300 yard/3TD passes are such the norm, they're almost irrelevant to me.

Purdy has played very well so far, especially given the initial expectations. One of the best ways to separate QB's IMO, is what they do when the game is on the line, and the scenario I presented is just that. I'd be even more impressed if he, after playing a poor 3.5 quarters and getting battered a bit in the process, delivered a last second win under duress. Sooner or later, if he plays long enough, he'll face that scenario, and I want to see if he can deliver.
turns 23 today

I feel like this has no real bearing on anything.

The Dreamcast was highly underrated and overlooked, just like Brock Purdy.
Happy Brockday

Dude...you've got to stop channeling your spirit animal. LOL!! Better to have cheered and lost then to never cheer at all. (paraphrasing)

Reminds me of this guy:

Grant Cohen alert

Cohn is actually fully on the Purdy bandwagon.

I'm a real fan of Lance despite his up and down start.

I went and rewatched his every-snap compilation from the Texans game as a reminder, and came away an even bigger fan...

... of Brock Purdy.

Going back and watching Lance now, in light of Purdy's success, leaves you with the impression of a QB who is a little cumbersome, burdened, and slow to process. The accuracy issues look very much like the product of a man who is having to work out too much stuff on each play (defensive read, his own throwing mechanics, game situation, etc.).

Purdy is just so much more of a slick machine at the moment. It's opposites in fact. The conversation about their contrasting attributes (arm strength, etc.) is pretty irrelevant for the short term because Purdy has his attributes up and running, whereas Trey's are still only partially deployed due to hesitancy and other issues.

I strongly suspect Purdy will start ahead of Lance next season. Why not?

One thing that might really help is that both guys seem genuinely humble 'servant of the team' types, which might really help take the sting out of the situation with regards to locker room intrigue.

Yea Treys best tape (Texans game) doesn't really impress me either. Purdys play is just so much more fluid than Treys. You can tell why Kyle rarely let Trey pass the ball when you watch his film

3rd and 4--throw to the sticks? Nah, f that, we need points! I love this about Purdy.

Best thing about him is that he throws to the open man. Seems simple, but we haven't had that since, god, Jeff Garcia?
