This is a general statement (not just directed to you). But things like Lance is a bust, Lance can't play on a good team to develop, purdy is the next Drew Brees, they should trade Lance etc etc…all these are over the top emotional statements.

no one knows what will happen next game let alone next yr.

I understand some of your frustration, but some of the enthusiasm regarding Purdy,,, just let folks have some fun!
Or, allow the balance of comparisons of Trey to better players are just as fair as the comparisons of Purdy to better players. All are a part of individual homer enthusiasm.
The off-season and next season will happen no matter what anybody posts here, No worries!

This is my main concern with Purdy rn. He gets really competitive and wants those extra yards if he can run it himself & doesn't mind being hit. Which is great but at the same time it could result in a major injury. The dude is really intense, I just hope he plays smart football & doesn't allow himself to be too vulnerable. He is super smart, no doubt about it but the intensity kind a worries me lol. It's nice though, to have some intensity. He is pure drive. I just hope he makes good judgment and keeps as safe as possible. His eyes are so intense lol. I don't see that kinda drive often. It's rare but proceed with a bit of caution. I want him to last a long time lol. Go Niners

He played smart football for 4 years at Iowa State. He knows what he is doing. Even though it is a small sample at the NFL level, he's already shown better pocket presence than Jimmy imo.
Which page of this thread will have the first pic of Brock hoisting the Lombardi?

Until then this thread has jumped the shark.

Enjoy football, Go Niners!

I know you said your post wasn't directed at me but I never said any of those things. Never agreed with anyone who said any of those things. I am just making my case for why I believe we should stick with Purdy until he gives us a reason not to. With the way we go through QB's we would be naive to get rid of Trey so soon. I find it hard to believe he will not get another opportunity with us to prove his doubters wrong. But on the opposite end of the spectrum from your concerns, are those posters who want Trey to be annointed the starting job next season no matter how Purdy performs the rest of this one. I want the QB who gives us the best chance to win a SB next season, no matter who it is.

A good QB will work with what he has got and do the best he can. With Shanahan as a coach designing plays it should be QB heaven. If JG was as bad as some people say then why did he win 70% of his games this year? If JG was so bad and Trey was so good why didn't Trey win all of his games instead of only 1 out of 3? Why is it that Purdy has won 4 out of 4 minus one series? Trey is a below average QB who did not make the most of his opportunities. He is not a winning QB but is somewhere around the level of Mullens to JG but still below JG. I am yet to see the evidence of him being better than JG let alone Purdy.

Why did Jimmy play awful in the playoffs and have one of the worst 4th QRs in Super Bowl history? Why are you comparing a 31 yr old QB with over 1,700 passing attempts in the NFL to a 22 yr old QB with 100 passing attempts? That debate isn't comparable and proves nothing imo.

Why are you even trying to debate Jimmy vs Brock vs Lance? Who cares? There's a multitude of differences between them and where they're at developmentally.

Because he's a ..

Nvm.

Yeah, I know lol probably concerned for no reason. I like how authentic Brock is. There's no fluff or elevated ego, it's just confidence & ability to lead. There's no grandstanding, he is a team player.

This x 1000.

So many horrific arguments and absolute statements in here about Trey off of three non-consecutive starts. I bet all of them are being made by the long time Jimmy lovers who have been shown by Brock how their love was misplaced as it is clear for all to see now that Jimmy was the one holding the offense back the entire time. Which plenty of us have been saying for years.

This forum would have ate him alive, now he's in the discussion for MVP. I'm not saying he's the next Hurts…but or f**k sake give him the chance to at least fail.

I believe Trey can be better than hurts on this team with these weapons. Thing is though I'm right now trying to see if Brock can be better than hurts and if so then we have ourselves one hell of a QB room this offseason
I really like his pocket presence and ability to escape the rush a good amount of the time. That is a wrinkle we haven't really had in a while.

I also ABSOLUTELY LOVE his football IQ. He had quite a few plays yesterday that didn't equate to positive yards but he mitigated risk - such as not throwing it away or to someone else when it was a screen play with linemen down field already etc. it really is crazy to see a rookie at that level already - that's like Andrew luck type stuff.

I think hurts is overrated. He's definitely good but MVP? Lol get outta here. Mahommes, Allen, and Bosa all should get it before him.

i don't see the eagles making the NFCC, which is why it's so important we get that 2 seed - so the playoffs have the best chance of running through us.
Oh yeah, I forgot about Noland.

Rather than argue over what will happen next yr, i am more concerned about Brock's ribs & obliques. It appears he is either wearing a flak jacket or some other protection under his jersey. I just hope this isn't bad enough to throw off his accuracy .Remember when Jim Burt (NYG) crunched Joe's ribs, his throws were off while wearing the flak jacket. I just hope Brock isn't so seriously affected.

Depends on degree of damage in chest wall muscles, and does he really have a cracked rib or two? If so, much as I would like that #2 slot, I wonder how close kyle &JL are to resting him next game …or two? This is a tough coaching decision, that only kyle/JL know about degree of damage, and have to factor that in to sitting him the next game. If we got up big early on I bet/ hope they would sit him.

I thought it has been 100% healed.
