The irony is Jimmy was 1st in big play rate% last year.

With his should fixed Jimmy was throwing much more outside the numbers. But accuracy was still an issue. Purdy seems more accurate though I have not investigated states. Just the eye test.

Basically where I'm at. I don't care if we keep him. I'd definitely listen though. If the offer is good enough I'm jumping on it
Total insanity around here. It's like buying a lottery ticket to the highest ever $2billion jackpot and how high you are dreaming. It's total euphoria and fun. Then the numbers are drawn.

Trade Trey. Cut Trey. Clueless.

Merry Christmas

lol

You might be right about that.

They did that with Foles.

I'm seeing almost $17M

You still have to pay the same money, just over two seasons instead of one. That would seriously hurt our 2024 cap and we would still need a backup on top of that who is going to cost $$$

There is really no financial reason to cut or trade Trey. The only reason to trade him is if you think you can get decent draft capital for him and even then it's going to come with some negatives.

He's going to play out his first 4 years with us at the least. Then we'll see.

Merry Christmas to you too, 9erson. I love this place - been away too long.

The difference of course being that Wentz was the frontrunner for MVP prior to his injury. Not remotely close to the situation here.

And foles was a 4 year journeyman who showed nothing before that.

Also that should be the exact reason why you do not do that situation. The eagles sucked after offloading foles.

Yeah people will still call for Trey if he wins a Superbowl just watch.

But fans are extreme. Read the first 25 pages of this thread. You had half the fan base saying purdy had no chance of being anything even after the preseason and the other half saying he flashed more than lance.

I would agree with the latter set.

They both have deficiencies in their game. Lance had more. His football iq is slower, his throwing motion is longer, his decision making is slower.

Purdies are his arms not as good, he's not as tall, probably not as fast in a straight line.

They both haven't choked like Jimmy yet so I consider that a benefit to both.

Purdy seems to have the decisiveness and shiftiness though to be good. Really good. His football iq is high. He's similar to Wilson but seemingly better in these games so far.

What's the irony?

using a percentage over quantity?

I understand the strategy just fine. It was a bad strategy. A bad misuse of assets in the middle of a Super Bowl window. We needed immediate improvement at the position, or at least immediate insurance at the position, and they decided to prioritize 'the future' instead.

Purdy represents a life raft from that mistake.

No one cares if you think it's "dumb" it's what they did and that's the process….you clearly had a bias since it first happened and will find any way to prove you were right.

Purdy represents the fact that playing a lot of football gets you prepared to play football…this franchise doesn't give a flying f**k if you can't accept that. They clearly can win games with avg QB play. They weren't trying to lose games this yr when they made Lance the starter.

Is it possible Kyle changes strategy and runs with Purdy with Trey as a backup since they have Purdy (doing really well) on the cheap?

Obviously Purdy could get injured early next season (hope not) like Trey did, and then Trey is ready to step in and learn/play.

Only thing JG has over Purdy is a quicker release.

which Purdy makes up for being more elusive in the pocket.

Always liked Jimmy - also always thought he was boring AF - rarely looked further than 10-15 yards.

Jimmy was was playing good football. The fact that many people believe Purdy has already surpassed Jimmy should tell you all you need to know about this kid. He's a damn rookie for fvcks sake.

Keep balling Purdy!!!
