Bosa has been decent.

Alright, people the gushing over Brock is getting ridiculous. He's good, let's not jinx it and go overboard about it.

It was fairly obvious after a few preseason games he could be this good. He flashed potential, it was just a question if he could clean up the risky interceptions and throws over the middle and speed up his release time.

There is pretty much no chance lance gets his job back. The gap in football iq is too great. Brock's reaction time and movement in the pocket is way better.

Lance is 2-3 years behind at least. If we didn't have Brock you could spend time developing lance but since we do he never will get the chance.

Wasting draft picks on such a raw prospect when we have a super bowl ready Defense was a blunder.

Truer words have never spoken. Been saying this since before we drafted Lance.

That's right.

Lol, yeah - I know. I just hope we don't jinx him.
No he's not a flash in the pan as some have posted. The way he reads the field, makes decisions, gets the ball out quick, throws to the right guy is like a 10 year veteran. He has amazing field presence and game experience. Probably back to that 4 year starter thing at major College football. That stuff matters. Honestly people missed on him. He throws a tight accurate spiral. He can even throw down the field a little bit. He has some pretty good escape ability too. In his 10 yard splits he is fast. Just a really accurate thrower for say 45 yards or less. That's all you need. You don't need to throw it 70 yards like Mahomes, Allen or Herbert. It's nice but not necessary. You want good decisions, get the ball out quick and throw an accurate ball. It's obvious he understands the offensive and defensive schemes. He's light years ahead of his years. This guy can be really good. He's already good.

If he comes crashing down I promise you it won't be because webzone talked him up.

Agree with ya, mayo

It's almost like playing football makes you better at football…more time to develop by NOT playing football isn't gonna do jack s**t for Lance. Not saying he should start next yr, but let's stop with the narrative of not playing will make anyone better at playing football.

We drafted Lance to help the team, not the other way around.

If we have a young QB who allows the team to go deep in the playoffs and potentially win the Super Bowl, we continue to build on that... not go backwards in order to develop a player who maybe someday will do the same.

We drafted Lance to be the starter for the next decade. If you think he was ever gonna come out of the gate and be Tom Brady, that's your problem. Kid lacked reps we ALL knew that! There's a process and SF accepted that process when they moved up for him….not my problem if you can't understand that.

I got no problem with Brock, if he turns into a super star not one single person will be upset.

Developing requires playing football. You can still win and do that…if Kyle didn't think they could he would have NEVER drafted Lance and made him the starter this yr…it's not like our team stinks.

I understand the strategy just fine. It was a bad strategy. A bad misuse of assets in the middle of a Super Bowl window. We needed immediate improvement at the position, or at least immediate insurance at the position, and they decided to prioritize 'the future' instead.

Purdy represents a life raft from that mistake.

That's right.

Kyle and John felt he was worth a gamble and they certainly know that if he doesn't pay off somewhere down the line that they'll look bad. We alllove draft picks but the truth is since 2016 the Niners haven't done well with 1st round picks.

They hit on Bosa, Aiyuk and Buckner

They missed on Foster, Garnett and Thomas

Lance, Kinlaw and McGlinchey are questionable.

So they hit on about 1/3 of their first round picks with 2 still to be decided. Their chances of getting a star player with those 2 first round draft picks they lost wer no better than 50/50. That's about the same as the chances of a 1st round QB making it in the NFL. Was the risk worth it. We'll see.
