QB Brock Purdy Thread

We all love Brock but it is a true statement we have not come from behind and won from the second half. So Cowerd is a bit correct until we show otherwise but that stat can't last forever so not worried about it.

just to give an update on our ol boy Steve, see if this makes sense

Geno is 7th
Fields 16th
Purdy 18th
Flacco 21st

he also describes Minshew as 'if Brock Purdy ever needs a stunt double'
i guess he's calling Minshew a poor mans Purdy
Minshew is 22nd

That game against the Ravens must have felt like Christmas for Steven Ruiz. I guess technically it was Christmas for everyone.
Interesting that the raven's are saying us and Miami have tells on offenss. During the game, it def seemed like they knew what we were doing and when.

we still got a handful of explosive plays on them. f**k em. I like our chances against them the second time around, if we play em.

Players say those things all the time, it is almost always just BS (unless you cheated, like what Belichick did).

Exactly.

We're gonna shock the f**k out of them the next time we play.

I could only imagine Kyle is going to want to destroy that defense even more than Carolina in 2019.

Take away the guys I said and sew how it goes. Or take out Tyron Smith and Ceede Lamb for Dak and see how it goes. Because they had those in the lineup. They were not minus those 2 guys. That's a big difference.

I 1000% believe they knew tells. They def seemed to anticipate what we were doing a lot, whether it was a screen/pass etc.

it's fixable and we can make adjustments, it's not a big deal, but I don't think this is just talking smack. He actually said he thinks Brock is a great qb and should be in the mvp discussion. So it isn't like he was trashing us. (LB McQueen).
Listened to the Garcia interview, class guy, haven't heard from him in while. He seems pretty excited about BP & the team..even if BP passed his record. Lol he jokes why he hasn't been on Madden..give Jeff a spot already lol

The packers just had playoff voodoo over young. All of his playoff games vs packers were bad to average at best. Even in the 1998 W, he had several plays throughout the game he was fortunate didn't go worse.

The toughest one was the 1997 nfccg. 1st seed, great defense, and he puts up 3 points (we got a kr TD late).

Some speculate that Holmgren being ex SF made him an even more effective DC against our offense than going up against our defense with his offense.

We also lacked Garrison Hearst (true RB1) for much of those games.

I'd agree that Montana was more clutch than Young, but the '90s 49ers were a team characterized as being carried by Young much like how Mahomes is carrying the Chiefs right now.
Biggest reason why I wish Moody had made that kick in Cleveland is that it would have shut down the "can't come back" claims. Brady would have had the same stigma if Vinatieri had missed his regulation kick against Oakland. It's a dumb thing to put on the QB's shoulders when half the time it's another player entirely that gives them their reputation.

The Ravens are in for a big surprise during the playoffs. Let em keep talking all this trash. It's been stated several times, but if we rematch them it ain't going the same way. We leaned back in the regular season and will lean forward in the SB

Knowing what plays are coming is only part of the battle. Still gotta go out and execute. They created some turnovers and capitalized, so kudos to them.

Part of the Shanahan scheme is to get the opposing defensive players to recognize what the offense is doing, and then use that against them by doing something different out of the same look. So some of the tells are counted on to be picked up on by the opposition. Turnovers can screw that plan up royally.

It's unfair he didn't make that. Because they wouldn't have that argument anymore. I hate that he missed that one. Especially how they use the narrative. Purdy "lost" at Cleveland without Trent Williams and Deebo.

Patrick Queen..how that guy get in the NFL with that last name? Sorry Queenie..if we meet again we will own your ass

Mahomes has a HOF coach, HOF TE, and a HOF WR when he broke in, so it takes a team, it's almost never 1 guy, even Young, how about all your career, with Jerry Rice, elite coaching, elite system, etc. (good career anyway, he didn't do much in Tampa)
