It was batted.

Yes, thanks for the correction

He's not wrong but probably shouldn't have said that outloud. LOL

I thought about this, as it really does seem like too much praise for a rookie, but then, when you think about it, he's doing his best to pump up the third stringer, and help get us team do believe they can make a deep run with him.
In regards to Brock.....It's still real early in this whole process but he definitely looks the part. Jeff Garcia is kinda my comp for him....I just think the way he navigates the pocket and his athleticism is similar. Brock really seems like a prototypical WCO QB. I think my biggest compliment for Brock is I think he would be a QB that Bill Walsh would have drafted.

With Trey and Brock, I feel pretty good about the QB room moving into 2023.

I'm like.. is it a mature johnny manziel that panned out? Something about him reminds me of someone, I just cant think of who. Maybe he just kind of looks like Drew Lock with a helmet on lol

I think Drew Brees is a reasonable comparison, in terms of playstyle: Accurate, a little small, but elusive and able to move around the pocket well. Leader. Good decision-maker. Brees wasn't known for being a great deep ball thrower out of college (but he did mature to the point that he could make all the throws at an elite level).

He's more elusive and quicker on his feet than brees.

Big on him for getting out there and beating Seattle in Seattle. His processing is damn good for a 7th rd rookie. His pocket feel is also amazing.

He's got 10 days to feel better, I'm here for the ride to see where this all goes

Yea this mini-bye week will do wonders for him and the team. The only positive about Thursday games. Other than that I hate them

He was good enough, again. Aside from that one Jimmy ball he threw to Diggs. I thought Shanahan was a lot more conservative with the playcalling today than he was the prior two games with Purdy. Most of the chunk passing plays were one read schematic throws. And of course had two 1st down receptions wiped out (holding on McCloud catch and the Aiyuk drop).

The 3rd down run getting the corner was something obviously Jimmy would not have been able to do.

Yeah, these last two games have been more Kyle-like to me. The 37 passes off the bench were a massive outlier. But Brock can execute both.

The MIA game was close late in the 4th quarter. We passed the ball 18 times in the first half of the bucs game. If we weren't up by such a huge margin going into the second half of that game, we could have easily seen another 18 passes if the game was a lot closer. Brock's ribs could have played a role in the second half of the bucs game as well as the SEA game. Its a small sample size at this point. Lets see how the last 3 games of the regular season and the playoffs go.

Maybe but do you really think Kyle would have leaned heavily on the pass in the 2nd half if it was close? Kyle plays tighter the tighter the game no matter the QB, IMHO.

But you're right about the ribs/oblique too. Too small of a sample to definitely think either way but I'm just going off Kyle's M.O. for the past 6 years to date.

Something to watch. Either way, it's bringing in the W's.

What a story so far. Just unsure if this is 2017 Jimmy redux in a way or if we are truly witnessing something special. I guess it remains to be seen. I'm also old enough to remember when the likes of Shaun Hill (same number and even kinda sorta lookalike haha), JTO, and even Troy Smith were thought to be the Cinderella stories only to eventually crash down to Earth. Even Jimmy to a lesser extent…outside of 2019…never really got back to that "magic" we saw during that 2017 5 game stretch.

But I will say Brock definitely is the only QB so far (between himself, Jimmy, and Trey) where I don't feel like something catastrophic could happen when he drops back. Lol so that's good.
I love all our QB's. Having said that, you can see it in Kyle's eyes when he talks about Brock, he's found his guy. Brock is everything Kyle has ever wanted; a smart game manager who can follow his directions and run his system. Kyle calls a more confident game with Brock in there. Kyle does not want a Brady or a Rodgers or even a Lance; he doesn't want a superstar. I have no idea how this plays out, but Kyle seems to have his guy

I was thinking more about Trey on this comment. Eek.

I think my biggest compliment for Brock is I think he would be a QB that Bill Walsh would have drafted.

With Trey and Brock, I feel pretty good about the QB room moving into 2023.

Minus the hop-skip-jump-throw mechanics, of course. Haha.

Repeatable mechanics are the most important thing for QB.....Get something comfortable and just iron it out.

Those were good times with Garcia. Good comp.

Brock's skills set seems right in between Trey and Jimmy...like the three bears, the bed is just right for Kyle.

I think Purdy had one jump-pass against the Bucs. Hahaha

I have thought the same. I think Bill Walsh would have wanted Purdy. The footwork, the smarts, and the willingness to give receivers a chance on contested throws. Purdy has traits Walsh coveted in a QB.
