I know many think Darnold serviceable and maybe he will be but I won't hold my breath. And if CMC has some lingering issues they are quiet about who knows the outcome.

Defense needs to wake the f**k up.

The entire team needs to wake up right now.

I don't understand your comment. Why shouldn't he have been in that situation? QBs run that play all the time.
Anyone know how strong his arm is? Can he even throw 50 yards? Not hating just curious. What QBs were elite without a strong arm? All I can think of is Montana, Manning, Brees but they all had good but not great throw power Purdy just seems mediocre. He his some deep crossing routes only time I remember him throwing it over the top was to mccaffrey awhile back and that seemed 40 yards?

I'm convinced Purdy is a good qb but not quite convinced he has the potential to be elite there's little evidence that shows a qb can be elite without at least a good arm. I know he's still recovering and getting his strength back but it is concerning, it's the only thing that makes me still question if he's the future

Remember Kittle's bodybag comments prior to the Rams NFC Championship game also?
Fired them up.
I like some of his shananigans better than others.

Yeah, I'm a big fan of STFU! If I were a head coach I would have a strict policy of NOT making comments to provide bulletin board material. This is the NFL where even the worst team can beat the best team if they play with more edge. Compliment the opponent and find your own reasons to get fired up for the game on Sunday.

Well I'll tell you what, that's one way to stop the Tush Push.

He asked a question, then answered it himself. But why does a QB need to throw for 50 yards to be elite?? Shouldn't accuracy be far more important than arm strength or how far a QB can throw it?? These past two losses, Purdy shares some of the blame but nowhere near as much as Shanahan, Wilks and the defense. The Brown game was f**ked up and a straight up Vegas call.

Ngl when I see a receiver wide open down the field in madden I be hating

Really though I'm impressed with his accuracy and anticipation rather that than an okay qb with a big arm. Genuinely curious if anyone has a good idea what his range is? Cause we haven't seen him throw a streak to gauge his arm

If Purdy can be a franchise QB, I really don't care if you or anyone else considers him elite. I want a perennial starter. I want no QB competitions. I want a guy that you know will be our guy for years. If he's top 3, fantastic. But we don't need elite. We need a franchise QB first, and I believe in Brock to be that guy

Good post SWH, but as of right now, I just want a starting QB to start and end the season without missing games.

I'm all in on Brock but I don't see him as a franchise QB. It's a difference of what I consider a franchise QB or any franchuse player. The term gets tossed around so easy now that people consider anyone that can start a franchise player. I disagree.

To me a franchise QB is one the franchise can't survive without. Someone who can't be replaced. A player that comes along once every 10 or 15 years. I know that's rare territory but that's what I consider the term to mean. Montana was one but theNiners were able to replace him with another. That doesn't happen very often. GB did it with Favre then Rodgers. Brock is the best we have but he can be replaced. Maybe not this season but he's not a generational QB. He's very good and works well in Kyle's system. So would many other QBs if given the chance. Why do you think Kyle wanted Cousins so much. Not for his arm strength of running ability.

Steve Young had a weaker arm than Brock, dude.

There's no such thing as a franchise QB based on your description, other than maybe Peyton Manning. Any QB who isn't his own system/calling his own plays can be replaced by many different guys, because he'll need to have the system in place in order to succeed.

Montana wasn't even a clear upgrade over Steve DeBerg in Kansas City.

Steve Young was horrible in Tampa Bay and worse than both Steve DeBerg and Vinny Testaverde with the same team.

Brett Favre was going nowhere in Atlanta.

Troy Aikman was a bust before Norv Turner.

Warren Moon was not a factor before the run-and-shoot.

Jim Kelly was nothing before the K-gun offense.

John Elway's numbers were mediocre before Jim Fassel installed the WCO.

Dan Marino wasn't the same after Shula retired.
