But he could have had roughly 2 TD's in the game. 1 was down the field and a good throw. I don't think he at all played badly. He did miss a few others. But far from a terrible game.

I dunno about a dime... major Superbowl flashbacks for me

LOL at still bringing up Lance out of nowhere.
He was a bust.

Did Lance ever throw deep balls?

I think once in the pre season. But if I'm not mistaken, a "deep ball" is technically 20 or more yards, right? I think he had one or so, I believe to deebo against the Texans, is that right? Other than that, I don't think he ever did. For some reason he was crowned as this man with an excellent deep throw ability, and maybe he does, but I don't really remember seeing him hit many. He didn't play much, so maybe he didn't get to it.

Trey has completed 6 of 16 on 20+ yard passes, with 1 TD and 1 INT.

In comparison, Brock is 7 of 19 on 20+ yard passes with 5 TD's and 1 INT.

Very interesting. Appreciate the info. Nearly identical (lance has slight comp edge) but Brock has several more touchdowns. Although, you can argue that if it ends up as a touchdown is sometimes out of your control. You just make the throw and the player does what they can where they can.

Most of Brock's 20+ yard completions are TD's. Atleast 3 of those TD's are into the endzone. The CMC one against the bucs and the Aiyuk one against PIT were perfectly placed passes near the front pile one. One was to his left and the other was to his right. The Kittle one was right down the middle. The aiyuk TD against the bucs was underthrown but Brock was getting blasted as he threw it. I can't remember the 5th one off the top of my head.

Yeah that's true. Most of Brock's were scoring deep passes because he pushed it into the endzone or near it. I love it. Hope he has a great game on Thursday - need to have a showing like Dallas did.

Apparently Dallas had like 7-8 sacks in the giants game and won 40-0

Without the interference he catches that ball. It was good placement.
I'm not sure if this has been mentioned. But Aiyuk, Deebo and Jennings aren't known for their speed. Those 3 misses were on the trajectory of Brock's targets. He just over threw them by like 2 yards. If Ray-Ray or Gray were running those routes, they are most likely TD's.

Sucked watching in real time, but not too concerned about the overthrows. If they were wildly inaccurate to the sides or woefully short I'd be concerned. He showed good zip and just overshot them

Where does this sound familiar...

The first miss to Aiyuk, he got a safety coming over, Brock can't afford to be short on that. The one to Deebo, he could've let it float a bit and just let Deebo try to catch it

If tua can throw deep, then purdy can, no problem
The main point is that us 49er fans fully expect a Superbowl win this year. And in order to accomplish that, Brock Purdy must prove that he can throw deep ACCURATELY. All Superbowl winning QBs had make these throws at some point in order to take the cake.

Just think about all the prior Superbowl winning QBs, they could ALL throw deep, accurately.

Please show us Brock Purdy. May this not be the thing that holds this team back, in the end.

Thanks for posting, enjoyed it.

I won't go as far to say that I'm worried, I think it improves as we go, I said earlier but I don't think we have to hit all of them, the offense is so potent that we'll get you enough without the shot plays, I think if we get to 50/50 we'll be fine.

I never excused Brock for those misses. Notice how I still callled them over throws? But you cannot deny the fact that none of those deep shots were to our speedsters.

Obviously a timing issue. Just needs more work with all the WRs to get the timing down.
I can tell QB war lines are starting to take shape in this thread. The Trey and Jimmy wars are over. Begun the Brock war has
