QB Brock Purdy Thread

No hesitation. Total reaction. Play the game. Unreal.

f**k sake, he should be the 1st qb drafted last year.

Seems like yesterday. Joe also had zero interceptions in his 4 Super Bowls. Nobody will ever convince me that trading this guy was a good idea. 😢

I mean, was that after the practice where he had 5 or so ints against the Raiders? That was a disaster.

I think it's a pretty weak excuse to say every int in practice is the result of Brock practicing things he wouldn't try in a real game. Why's he practicing throwing screens to the defensive linemen?

I can't think of any reason to give a crap about an INT in practice. They are meaningless.

Nope. If we trade Steve Young for Derrick Thomas (which was reportedly on the table), we win 3-4 more Super Bowls. Joe would have gotten us over the hump in 1992 and 1993 and maybe 1995 when Young choked in the playoffs. And Derrick Thomas would still be alive.

I wasn't old enough to be watching all those years but I've always felt like Steve young should of win more
chips. Reminds me of Payton manning, great regular season qb (all time great, both of them), but usually underwhelmed in the playoffs and lost games they shouldn't have.

joe just seemed to have that personality where he was always calm, collected, and in control. That stuff really matter for winning in the playoffs. It's a big reason why I like Brock's personality. Fiery but in control

Or just don't trade away Charles Haley and not blow a s**tload of draft picks leading to the team losing depth just as everyone else is catching up.

I'm 48 so I was plenty old enough lol. Steve Young was PRESSING when he took over Montana, playing in his shadow. If you look at highlights of the 1994 Super Bowl, he's celebrating with the guys saying he "has the monkey off his back" (referring to the pressure of taking over for Joe). I'm sure the Niners felt that Young's youth gave them a longer window to be competitive, which it did. But they only got one Super Bowl out of it. 1992, 1993, and 1995 were all years that we should have won it all. Joe had more left in the tank than Niners management realized.

Damn that too. Let Haley do whatever the hell he wants lol.

Agree, that debate still rages in the Joe/Steve threads. I have my own point of view, but it's better placed on those threads than on the Brock threads.

As for Brock, if ShanaLynch can always pair this guy with a dominant run game, he's going to have a hall of fame career if he can sustain that level of play of last year. I think he takes a jump in improvement this year since it's basically his 2nd year in Kyle's system. Surround this B🐔B with a good OLine, a great RB, and some decent WR's, and he'll go a long way to get that #6 🏆 to place besides the five 🏆 at 4949 Marie P. Debartolo way.

Agree 💯%, that was the single most stupid move of Seifert's career. Even he says now that it was the stupidest move of his career. It's like Trading Bosa for a bag of potato chips.

Don't think this team can beat KC/Cincy/Buffalo without him playing elite that night.
