No no no,... not at all. I hate to bring up betting, point spreads, and stuff of that nature, but they matter greatly.

Once kick-off has occured,...all of that stuff generally goes out the window.

The NFL is heavily invested in trying to pitch their product as "even" and "fair" to both teams for every contest. They go through ALOT of work to try to ensure this because it effects their bottom line greatly.

How uneven they really are after the ball is kicked off is I'm sure every bettor's dream.

Everything you said is true, makes more sense. I guess the way that GM used injury and competitive advantage is silly to me. I mean, going through the week leading up to the game, you know who's healthy and who isn't and can make adjustments before game day. It happens every season to every team.
Former Cowboys quarterback and current CBS NFL broadcaster Tony Romo didn't need long to see that Purdy would have success. He told Chris Biderman of the Sacramento Bee what he saw in the young QB:

"I know the timing of where things are supposed to be and what you're looking at, and when you're throwing the ball," Romo said at the American Century Championship golf tournament. "A tenth of a second feels like a minute to me when I'm watching. … These little tenths of seconds are the difference and people either have spacial awareness — some people call it instincts. I call it the ability to use leverage against the opposing player. And then obviously your ability to react and use spacial awareness within that.

"And he has that. I saw it right away."

I think so many posters in this thread already came up with this theory long before Romo came up with his.

Yes that's obviously right if you watch Purdy.

I feel like QBs in our offense don't get enough credit when they do a good job, everyone chalks it up to the offense scheme.

it's like "this is a super complex offense that takes years to master" and "this is a super friendly offense and any qb can thrive". Lol it's annoying.

its a very complex offense that requires a QB to play at a high level to get the most out of it. Yes, there are aspects of it that make the QBs job easier but that doesn't mean it's easy. Lol

i think guys are open because Kyle does a great job scheming and playcalling, they aren't just open cause the play design is so special.

i hope, that if it's Brock/Lance/Darnold has a really good season, they get the props they deserve and not that whole "any qb can do it". It's so dumb. Even jimmy never got enough credit, IMO.
Per Tim Kawakami, Brock making the pro bowl is a real possibility. Wow some seriously groundbreaking journalism there.I mean of course it's realistic, Mac Jones got in pro bowl for Pete's sake. It ain't that hard.Although I'm guessing he didn't mean Brock making it as an alternate. Only has to be out the likes of Dak, Geno, Cousins or Daniel Jones. Have a better season than two of those.

Hurts would top the list in the NFC
I'd be surprised to see BP in the PB, I suspect ppl are underrating the injury and recovery

There is absolutely nothing to report on until 49ers are well into training camp. The only news I have seen in the last month or so has been Luter injury. When there is actual news there are no details...no idea the extent of his injury.

Steve Young calls it "The Force", and he's right. Novice fans care about how strong an arm, or how fast is your 40, but it's what's between the ears that matters most. The ability to read and react fast. Strong arm and running is a plus, but not the most important. Steve Young had the Force. Montana, Mahomes, Brady, Favre, Rodgers, Elway, Manning. Trey has all the physical intangibles, but has yet to show he has the quick read and react. It's amazing that Andy Reid is appreciated as a genius now, but not so when McNabb and Alex Smith were his QB's.

Romo didn't "just" come up with this "theory." He was asked about it at the American Century... which was last week LOL.
Somebody watch the video of Purdy's dad tearing up when they are playing the bucs and tell me where I can get the 1/2 zip hoodie he is wearing, please and thanks!

Prefer Purdy make it straight in instead of backing in because half the league doesn't want to go.
