People are looking for that QB who does have those elite measurables combined with the smarts.

In Recent memory you can add Brees to that list of QB that have overcome limited physical skills.

What I'm saying though is that you can be elite without it. Being elite isn't determined by how strong your arm is or how fast you are. Lol

Can't believe this still needs to be said

Yep. If that were the case, Vick would've been the GOAT.

Get those clicks, kid.

That's interesting because the only time I've seen him post something even remotely positive about Brock is when he's disparaging Jimmy lol

He's been hyping up Lance train since joining he team, but once again might have been due to his hatred for Jimmy lol

but like I said before, I don't follow he guy. Only basing it on what's popped up on my timeline.

I do find that his views align with some niners fans sentiments on the QB situation. Which to your point, it might be all for clicks.
Great 49ers gift ideas

I'm guessing that was tweeted after Brock's missed pass to Aiyuk. Even Brocks biggest detractors have trouble knocking that play lol

i can pull up a bunch of negative tweets but don't feel like going through his timeline lol I was sharing from what I've seen from him.

Anyways, his opinion don't mean much. He called Lance another Tim Tebow before being drafted. Then became his biggest supporter when he joined the niners lol

No point in arguing about that clown.

Yeah, I haven't watched much of his show/read his articles because the little I've seen of it is very… narrative based like some have said. Which I think is a poor excuse for journalism. I know some like some of the guests he has on. I don't judge anyone, you like what you like, he just isn't for me. I don't find him factually informative. I feel like he is always pushing agendas or doing what will cause issues for clicks.

i think some are skeptical of Purdy because it's not a large sample size, which is perfectly fine.but the crowd that I dislike is that they push false narratives on Brock because they see him as a threat to Lance. They view Lance as the second coming of mahommes or allen. So they want him to play and look at Brock as detracting from that. Which I think is nonsense. I personally think Brock has been special and want to see him play more before anyone else here does. I'm not sold on Lance at all, not that I think he will be a bad qb, but I don't see him as being special.

i don't want anything but a HOF QB. So whoever can do that, I'm fine with, but anything less and it's not good enough to me. I'm not interested in "damn good" "pretty good" "really good" etc, I want "amazing" "special" "HOF" etc.
Former 49ers Pro Bowl quarterback Jeff Garcia spoke with KHTK 1140AM in Sacramento recently about what he sees from the young 49ers quarterback.

"The thing about Brock Purdy, he knew where to go with the football. He didn't take a lot of sacks. He didn't make a lot of mistakes. When things broke down around him, he lengthened the field with his feet," said Garcia. "He became a threat as a runner. I'm not going to say those were certain things that reminded him of me, but there were things out there like that. Hey, he's a smaller stature guy but that doesn't matter. He understands the game. He understood the defensive coverages. He understood what was going on offensively and where to go with the football and that was impressive."

When discussing the 49ers current options at quarterback, the weapons at Purdy's disposal during his eight-game win streak are often brought up. Garcia sees the way Purdy took advantage of the talent around him as a positive, again drawing parallels to his own situation when taking over for Steve Young.

"You know, up until the point when Brock Purdy stepped on the field, even with Jimmy (Garpppolo) out there, why was George Kittle not being targeted," asked Garcia. "If I had George Kittle on my team, I'm trying to get him the ball. Just like a T.O. (Terrell Owens), you're trying to get him the ball 10 times a game because when he gets the ball in his hands great things happen. Whether it's catching the ball in the flat, a 10-yard hook over the middle. That's one of your most dangerous weapons on the field and you're not utilizing him."

"The competition is going to be good with Trey Lance. Hey, you can't eliminate anybody. I think that's the unfortunate part of the quarterback position in the National Football League," said Garcia. "Organizations do not want to ruffle feathers. They're too concerned about 'oh he's our starter. We don't want to make him worry about his job." But every other position is open to the best talent available to the best talent available. Why isn't the quarterback position like that? You've got to have the best guy on the field."

You start the guy who's going to take you down the field, put points on the board, eliminate mistakes, do the right things for your team, get your athletes involved and be a leader in the locker room. And right now, Brock Purdy is that guy."

I don't really care for his type of "journalism", so try my best to avoid his stuff. For some reason, he and other niner content creators that I don't care for either *cough* Ryan Hensley *cough* pop up on my timeline from time to time. So, I was sharing what I've seen from him.

TBH, I dont think its really about sample size, but more about people viewing him as a "limited" QB that will never sniff elite status. If it was about sample size than wouldn't they wait to form that opinion once they see more games
because everything we've seen so far would lead you to believe that he has a chance to become at least top 10 QB.

Can't even believe some thought that. Lol if you watched the game, then it was obvious that wasn't true. That or some don't know a damn thing about football. Hahaha

I think he can be better than top 10. I think he can be in that top 6-7 convo annually. With the talent we have, he can do better than that. I really think he can be better than guys like Herbert/hurts etc. I'm not tryna knock those guys, they're damn good, but i think Purdy can be better based on what we saw last season.

Herbert is awesome but collapsing like that in the playoffs was humiliating. Especially against the freakin jags. Lol their defense wasn't that good. I like hurts too. I'm gonna watch him closely this year cause I want to see more of him before I get too high on him. If Purdy can put himself in the top 6 or so convo, that would be awesome. Mahommes is #1, then burrow/Allen. After that, I don't see why Purdy can't be in the convo with guys like Herbert/hurts. I'm leaving out Rodgers cause he's close to retiring. Lol

I think it's tough for rookies to not dink and dunk most of the time just due to the defenses they face. Most of the time from what I have seen defensive coordinators tend to blitz more just to see if rookies can handle it.

This tends to lead to more short yard plays than longer developing passes.

Once they prove worthy enough coordinators tend to back off and allow some longer developing plays with more exotic coverages.

I assume some running QBs with designed rollouts can make up for some of the increased blitzes but in general plays are going to be faster and shorter for rookies.

No need for reassurance,....just skip over them.

Sounds like a recipe for spending a lot of your life being disappointed.
