Ah, but here's the difference. Guys like Kaepernick to a large extent, and Jimmy to a lesser degree, just didn't grow and overcome their weaknesses. Brock is spending the whole off season studying film on plays and analyzing how they can be executed better. He's got the drive and football IQ benefit from that. Why could Jimmy Never improve his deep ball accuracy, or his field reading skills.

I mean that's you just assuming a whole bunch. We all thought Jimmy would do the same thing. Dude got hurt after two games and spent all year "studying film" with mike shanahan.
you have no idea what drive Jimmy or Brock have. He's trying to rehab his arm man. That's the first step. He's not gonna be able to play legit football in most of TC.

But this is where we are. The Trey fans are so hell bent on minimizing Purdy, they are now embracing and lifting up Jimmy to attempt to make that happen. Lol it's funny at this point.

Fair enough, but we might also consider what Brock did, he did with almost no practice in Kyle's offense. Kyle has said he will be better this year, and I just can't see how we wouldn't expect that to be true.
True.
We can also say the same thing about Jimmy in 2017 on a much much worse team.

Hate to break it to you, but Purdy hasn't done that yet either.

Another amazing factor. Especially going against that Dallas D
Boy there was a handful of throws that could have very easily been INTs. We can't count on that s**t going that way all the time. Things like TD% and TD/INT ratio aren't a static stat. If Brock maintains what he did in those categories, he's gonna be an all-pro. It's just hard to assume that off such a small sample size.

Jimmy's 6 playoff games combined stats compared to Purdy's first playoff game lol... its mind boggling... I'll try to find the stats and post. Found it.....
NOTICE: Analysis needs to be data-based. Do not cherry-pick data. It prohibits clear thinking and you will be called out on it. The offense under Purdy improved by over 10 points per game. He was the top passer in the NFL from when he entered the NFL. pic.twitter.com/pVov8sCxtq

its in the tweet lol... crazy...
We all know Jimmy was awful in the playoffs. I would hope we all want better there. Also why didn't he include all of Brock's playoff games like he did with Jimmy? I think a lot of us are talking about Jimmy when he had CMC, which is what Brock had as well. This dude talks about cherry picking but is doing it in his own right lol.
Like others said the scoring improvement was do to Brock's crazy TD%. That's a stat that imo can change awful quickly year to year. Hopefully it doesn't and he just becomes the highest TD% of all-time lol…but I do think it's reasonable to assume some sort of regression there.
Yeah, I'm sure he will come down some. We can't expect him to break a ton of TD records like he did continually. Lol as long as it's still in the top 5, I'm good with that.
i think it's naive to assume it won't come down. Lol but it would be amazing if it didn't
For sure. Film is out there now. Tendencies. DC's already know Kyle and now have an off season to plan for Brock. The good news is everyone in the world knew Kyle + Jimmy and still couldn't stop them so I don't expect a major drop off for Purdy either.
As a fan base we gotta be smart about all of it…when someone is having wildTD% and a crazy TD/INT ratio in a small sample size, you have to prepare for regression to the mean a little (or a lot who knows).
Absolutely, there will certainly be a regression to the mean over time, IMHO.

I mean it wasn't just Dallas it was TB, Seattle, snd LV. Like I said cool be be hopeful…also gotta keep it real and understand things like TD% and TD/INT ratio aren't a static stat at all. There's almost always a regression to the mean when it's so crazy high (or low).

Montana's best years were with Steve breathing down his neck. I'm hoping something like that is happening now with Trey and Brock. So that there is no regression but a progression. Keep in mind that Purdy is heading to his 2nd year when things slow down typically for rookies.

I've seen this handle blabbering on about nonsense for a while. Zero understanding of football and just emotional crap.

One game? I'm talking about his last 4 starts with CMC. Jimmy's numbers were legit good.
why do you ya'll resort to "Lance fans" or "Brock haters"? That's childish s**t imo. I'm in the Brock thread talking about Brock. If we're gonna go down that road why are you minimizing what Jimmy did with CMC his last 4 starts. Last I checked completing 73% of your passes, having a QB rating of 113.5, avg 230 yards and having 8 TDs to zero INTs in 4 games was pretty freaking good. Or do those kind of stats only apply to Brock?
