He did turn down a request by Jets to interview HC. He declined. Well it's the Jets but he just doesn't want to commit to that amount of time it takes to coach in NFL.
i'm sure John will say same tomorrow.
This makes sense. Afterall, dude almost quit after his first season of being a QB coach:

"As much as he loved it, it's tough being away from them," 49ers general manager John Lynch said Tuesday at the NFL Scouting Combine. "But they're well set up in Denver. He had to go weigh all of that.
"He had us nervous because you can't fight that. You can't say, 'Ah, no, that's not a big deal.' We understand that, so he went through that process."

Wouldn't you say just from coaching changes this has been a heck of an interesting offseason. Wonder if FA and draft will continue the trend and that includes lost players.
i'd say 9ers have been busy since SB. When's Kyle's outing to Cabo?

Well I wish nothing but the best for Brian Griese and his family. Hopefully he comes back one day as a coordinator with the 9ers. That's what I was hoping for.

Yeah, these guys work 80 hour weeks on a good week. Spend nearly 0 time with their family, especially if they aren't local. These coaches live out of hotels all year and a majority of them make $100k-$200k, which is a decent wage but nothing crazy.
Before anyone jumps on it, yes some make a lot more than that but these staffs are huge and most don't make that from the data I've seen.
I wish the dude best of luck and hope that once his kids get older - he gets back into coaching. He seemed to be a natural at it.

Should be a reminder to people to wait for facts to come out instead of reading twitter hot takes and rushing to pass judgement.

Seen plenty of QB coaches that were terrible OCs. Such as Rich Scangarello. While i cant be upset with his reasoning for leaving. I wouldn't want my OC not 100% committed to football. You would always wonder that with Griese.

The man chose his family over the game. Nothing wrong with that. May we all have the courage and chance to do so.

How about we don't make things up when there are actual reports and easy crumbs to follow.

That is awesome for him and his family. I would've liked him back with Purdy for 1 more season.

Why did he decline a head coaching interview from another team?
