What will Jimmy's trade value be in the offseason?

Lynch on possibility of JG being released:

"I don't see that. He's too good of a player."

JL Legend status confirmed.

Everyone seems to be focusing on the occasional INT and the nonstop injures. What about the flirty post game pressers, the mix of peppercorn ranch with pepperoni and the 2019 Saints/Cards games? We need to get the narrative flipped on this around the league. Someone start a hashtag or something.

The waiting game.

JL/KS are waiting for a training camp QB injury to another team.

IMO they won't cut him in the end they'll get something.

NOT what I originally thought - a 1st and a player - but maybe a descent player who'll rework their contract to play for a SB contender.

My understanding is Lynch has control of the 90 man camp roster but Kyle has control of the 53?

If so, when/if Jimmy get's cut will tell us who was advocating for Jimmy (from a trade value standpoint) and who wanted him gone.

It will tell you a Deebo extension coming soon. Only reason to cut him now.
Sooooo Jimmy is pretty much worthless on the trade market

I don't believe so no. I don't see him taking a rep in TC either. We will see.

Teams more interested in Trubisky, Wentz, Winston, Ryan than Jimmy. That's a gut punch. Doesn't get any clearer what this guys value is. Time to swallow that pill Lynchie, cut him

Have you been following this thread?

It has been made pretty clear that the reason teams are not lining up for him is that the injury to his shoulder is a serious one.

That's a straight up cope. If Jimmy was as good as some here claim, and teams truly believed Jimmy could elevate them, they would absolutely invest in him.

You had teams still interested in Watson while his scandal was still going on.

A surgery that should have Jimmy ready to go before the season starts would not deter teams if he was a top QB.

Hes not as good as his record. He's constantly injured. His play doesn't justify his contract.

I think if he was healthy, Jimmy would have went ahead of those guys. Just bad timing with the surgery and everything.

If being injured until July is all it takes for a team to decide that Mitch Trubisky is a better option, then you were probably never that desirable.

Yup. My point precisely. Teams want to win, without a great defense Trubisky and Jimmy closer to equal than not.

Winston got $28M while currently recovering from a ACL. IF a team really wanted Jimmy he would be gone.

I wouldn't really get too much into their thoughts on Jimmy. The long-term plan since last year has always been to transition away from Jimmy to Trey. It's more a question on how they go about it and when. It's about them trying their hardest to get a trade partner... or weighing whether there is any merit to keeping him for 1 more season vs. outright cutting him. There really shouldn't be much championing to try and keep Jimmy.

JL/KS generally back eachother up, publicly. It's usually a joint decision, but all in all... JL publicly defers and gives a lot of respect to what Shanahan's opinion is since he's the offensive mind and the QB is the head of his offense.

Uhhh, if he's throwing well ahead of training camp, ain't that serious:
"Jimmy Garoppolo had successful shoulder surgery on Tuesday, NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reported. The plan is for Garoppolo to be throwing well ahead of training camp, per Garafolo".

I mean…30 year old QB with consistency issues, injury history, shoulder surgery that will keep him out until training camp with 1 year left on his contract that not many teams are willing to take and what do you expect?

With the same team he was with last year…

it's like context is foreign or something around these parts
So....Jimmy's standing in NFL QB ranks somewhere between Mitchell Trubisly and Sam Darnold. Awesome.
