What will Jimmy's trade value be in the offseason?

The only reasonable trade option is Carolina and taking back some of Darnold's contract. That's it for right now. Or they could wait until August and see if a team gets desperate.

He didn't suggest cutting Jimmy as an option.

Yup I'm hoping for Darnold coming back if that's what we need to seal the deal. Would have to split his cap hit in some agreed upon way. We eat some they eat some. Panthers would get a big upgrade at QB. We would get McCaffrey is my hope or picks. Their picks are a little weird early first which is untouchable then nothing until 4th so getting player back may make most sense.

Why would we want McCaffrey? He's breaking down and is paid a lot at a position that the 49ers have been finding gems at.

I'm thinking we lost a vet in Mostert.

McCaffrey has family ties to Shanny, Ed McCaffrey was on the 94 SB team when Kyle was ball boy. Papa Shanny won SBs in Denver with Papa McCaffrey. He's a Stanford product as is Lynch. I could see it.

If healthy he's probably the top all around RB in the game. Turns 26 this summer, so still prime years. Carolina tried to give 25-35 touches per game not realistic imo. We could spell him with Mitchell and yes even Sermon to keep everyone fresh.

Offense would become completely unstoppable. Lance, CMC, Deebo, Aiyuk, Kittle, Trent, Juice with Shanny coaching it up. Potential top RB, top TE, top FB and top LT in the game, plus Deebo

sounds like he would be a good fit for seattle.. that is fine with me.

Was that tongue-in-cheek ? Like good fit there for the Niners lol ?

Tyler Lockett and DK arent really middle-of-the-field quick hitter guys...

James already said his goodbyes. Lynch already said that they are committed to Trey going forward. What an absolute dumpster fire.

do they have a spare o line or d line guy we could get if that is a possible spot for jimmy

I'd rather just trade Jim for their 4th or a 2023 pick.

thats fine to.... whatever we get.. i do not care anymore. lynch was a miserable failure when he tried to play hardball with the rest of the nfl teams/ so do not play this stupid little game again lynch........ take what anyone offers,. if we have to wait till draft day. f**k. fine

Anything would be a bonus at this point. I'm ready to move on from this circus.

Really hope that doesn't happen. That's just not ideal.

Nothing like having your most expensive player being the backup and being avg on top of it…perfect way to building a super bowl roster derp.

This team was a Super Bowl roster with Jimmy G leading it. We went to the Super Bowl with Jimmy G.

This team has an elite-ish defense with top quality pass catchers. They would have made the NFC championship last year with almost any NFL starter that knew the playbook.

Not a backup, a starter. Again he wasn't asked to do much. Though I do credit Jimmy for his leadership at times. He still gotta go.

No circus my friend. We were in the final four teams last year. We are doing great. Last year of the JG deal we have the for sale sign on there let's let the process play out still a lot of offseason months ahead of us according to my calendar.
Bring him back and keep him on the roster.

* He can get traded in the summer when his shoulder fully heals. Which equals out to next years draft picks. But that's OK.

* He stays on the roster for next season. A big QB goes down with injury. It happens every year. They get desperate and trade for him.

* He stays on the roster and plays. Trey Lance is not ready as Joe Montana said. We know we can win with Jimmy G because we have. Trey Lance sits for 2 years. He learns the playbook, in the film room and on the practice field.

You guys are simply wrong that Jimmy G can't play and has no value. He can play and he has value. He's injured, coming off surgery and has a high salary. If he was not injured, not coming off surgery and had a lower cap hit teams would snap him up quickly. All those are affecting his value.

If he played it out his salary is off the books next year. We can extend our guys in future year loaded contracts. So we can still do that. Sudfeld is the backup and I guarantee that won't work if somebody gets hurt. So maybe bringing him back to just play isn't the worst thing.

lol so his timeline for his ACL is damn near the same as Jimmy's shoulder. Both are expected to be ready at the start of training camp....one got paid $28M ($21M GTD) and is on a new team.

His "injury" is not the main reason no one is willing to trade anything of substance for him. His "contract" which at this point is only GTD for $8.9M isn't a reason either.

That's not really apples to apples. Winston was there last year and already knows the players and has on field chemistry. If he has signed the same contract with a different team, then you would have a point.

Yup flyn nailed it. No new scheme to learn which was the Colts concern with JG he wouldn't be healthy when they are doing some offseason install stuff for the first time with him.

This isnt a good point at all. The Saints lost Sean Peyton. They absolutely are not running the same scheme as they did last year. Similar players and familiarity, sure. But still a new system, so that pretty much invalidates his point.

Who do you think they replaced Payton with at HC? Dennis Allen, who was his defensive Coordinator last year and he brought back most of the same coaches including the offensive coordinator. They changed QB coaches but promoted Ronald Curry from within, so he is very familiar with Winston and vice versa.

How is that the same as Jimmy switching to another team?
Keeping Jimmy has been the plan all along unless we got a good deal. Trey is nowhere near ready even though this place went nuts over practice throws.
