It would be ironic if Cousins gave the Niners pause to bring Jimmy in, and also held up them shipping him out.

we were told it was the watson thing holding things up. now that that is settled . oh wait. nothing is happening. big shock and awe. winston is coming off major knee surgery and looks like he will get a job before jimmy.. that tells me that shoulderexcuse is just an excuse floated by someone. fans. media. lynch kyle whoever

The bottom line is he is injury prone, highly compensated for his skill set, coming off another surgery. Yeah, if I a GM who wants to keep my job I'm all over this signing in a heartbeat.

The market has spoken. Not Lynch. I'm sure he is working the best he can.

i go by what lynch does and not what he says.. he said we would have multiple suitors for jimmy.. we do not. lynch just needs to shut up

There is no bloated salary though. The only gtd cash he has is $7.5M right now. No one wants Jimmy because he's hurt (again) and not an amazing QB.

What about the $25M?

Salary in 22 means nothing to anyone but us.

That's not true, it can be negotiated down, the team trading for him can either offer more if we eat some of that salary or they can offer less at take the whole thing ala Washington with Wentz. But if the Niners don't take some of the salary and/or Jimmy doesn't restructure, he is getting his 2022 salary regardless of location.

Nope. No one is trading for him as a one year rental. Anyone trading for him will extend and this 27 Mil means jack s**t.

I am leaning that way too. Would love to get some value but not counting on it.

Same, he not even worth half of what he making and people know that , me personally don't view him as a starter , a back up , vet min

depends on who you talk to.. to me. and to alot of people.. we are lucky to get a third rounder.. to lynch and kyle. they think someone will give them 2 seconds. their arrogance and or ineptness on this front is something to behold

There you go dropping one liners hoping to get a rise outta people. Seriously was that comment really needed.

If a team traded for him and doesn't release him, his 27M is guaranteed.

That's how I'm seeing it from his agents View point. Yes he's only guaranteed $7.5 M. But.

Scenario:

We try to trade him to team A. He has a $27 M deal of which $7.5M is guaranteed.

Team A's GM says: Jimmy we will only pay you $7.5 M.

Don Yee, Jimmys agent says : the contract is $27M , or cut Jimmy and he gets $7.5 M to do nothing and sign elsewhere as a FA and make even more money.

Team A's GM says: Ok Don how about $15M for 2 years guaranteed like Trubisky? He set the market for 2nd chance QBs.

Don Yee says: Listen MFer "I'm the Don f'n Yee", take that $heat out of here! $40M for 2 years, with $20M guaranteed. In fact add a 3rd voidable year to show a $65M contract so my client looks good.

Team A's GM : we're not signing that always injured Jimmy G for more than $7.5 and we're not trading a pick. Good luck Don you POS. This is why the league hates dealing with you, you're giant Ahole.

of course i am very grateful that we did a a pleasant surprise and got to the nfc title game but it just bothers me. that this team just is hesitant to make some major get over the hump type of moves to actually get us over the hump.. after the jt and chip thing.. sure i just wanted our team to be "competitive",, but now i think we deserve a little bit more.

We made that move, though. The trade to get Lance was the move to get us over the hump because Jimmy was the guy holding us back.

I agree. Most of all I can't stand it when Lynch sits back and tells us "we like our guys" or "we looked into it". How the 9ers didn't come in and steal Von Miller from LA is a bit frustrating. Miller could've definitely put the 9ers over the top in that NFC Championship game.

but it means little if you keep this current wretched o line in tact and roll with it for this year.. we were also told they would surround trey with great talent.. the team still needs a running back. a second tight end cuz kittle is unreliable. a fast wide out. the team has been wonderful in fixing special teams but we still have jimmy. we have a wretched offensive line. gotta take care of those things. a get over the hump qb means little if you got him behind a nickle and dime o line

the we like our guys thing.. has just over played itself to me over the years. they were great swinging for the fence is getting trey.. and while we have a ways to go before the season begins.. speaking in the here and now time frame....... the team has gotten worse in o line which is the total key to the team. no offense to trey

Lol exactly, okay how do you know that? Right now Lance is a total question mark than when the Rams traded for a proven veteran. Let's see how much Jimmy was holding this team back if Lance can even get to the places Jimmy has been, the Super Bowl or shoot even the NFCC. You guys act like it's a given that the 9ers get there with Lance.

Ok this is not hard. This is not about how Lance will perform. It's about the major move to get someone that can take us over the top.

Right or wrong most feel handing off the football to a stout running back or dinging and dunking can be matched by Trey. The quick release is a different story but if it's a quick release behind the LOS well then okay.

I am in that camp. Apologies to all but anything Trey can do above and beyond an occasional midrange connection is a blessing. Whether Trey or Russel, or anyone else we might have been able to score is truly worth the chance. Jimmy's time was proven over. And it probably was a year or two earlier.

Trey was handpicked. Not a desperation move. I'm completely on board we got this.
