Another two years is the max one could expect for him. Would any team give up 2 #1 picks for a guy who will only play for two years? I don't think so.

Also, Rodgers and Adams have pretty much agreed they are a package deal, along with MVS. If GB doesn't keep one, the other leaves. With Jordan Love clearly being a disappointment to this point, there is no way Adams stays if Rodgers leaves. Gutekunst (GB GM) will make it happen to keep them both.

Just talked Rodgers out of the discussion. I see no way he impacts the value of Garoppolo in trade. All Rodgers might do is impact the location of Jimmy.

I mean, I agree with you that Rodgers probably isnt going anywhere. But I dont see how he doesnt impact the value of Jimmy in trade if he IS traded. Maybe I am misunderstanding you and you meant that IF Rodgers stays that doesnt impact Jimmy's value...which I agree with. But if Rodgers IS traded, I think Jimmy's return takes a hit because that is one less team potentially fighting for his services.

My point hinges on the fact that Jordan Love is not the guy to replace Rodgers. IF big IF, Rodgers is traded, GB is going to be looking for a QB that can win now...and that isn't Love. Hence, I see JG in play in GB.

Actually its's ownership likes Tua and were looking for a coach who agrees. We will see. He could still change their minds.

When he was first hired, Kliff Kingsbury spoke as if Josh Rosen would be his guy. McD being in MIA makes them a possible player for Jimmy imo. Never know.

They should do it - Jimmy is better than Tua.

Technically speaking, if Rodgers is traded, the amount that's traded for him can effect Jimmy's potential trade scenario positively as well. If a bidding war is done for both Rodgers and Wilson, that high price can be a positive to what teams trade for Jimmy.

Not saying it will happen that way, but you never know until free agency and trade season begins.

I'll be shocked if either get moved...possibly Rogers but Wilson I just don't see happening. Seattle has nothing developing behind Wilson and this draft is junk at QB. Old man Pete isn't sticking around for a rebuild.

I agree a bidding war starts over Rogers, that's a good thing for Jimmy. I wouldn't be shocked if SF is heavy in discussions with teams during the Senior Bowl. Moving someone like Rogers/Wilson/Watson isn't gonna happen at the Senior Bowl...that s**t is gonna take a long time and go through multiple channels to get done.

Seattle doesn't want it but Russ might demand it. Russ wants to protect his image so he won't say out in the open but there will be leaks.

Let's see squeaky clean Wilson complain in public about it....if he was that upset about not wanting to play there, I'd make him go public about it if I was the GM/Owner. He wants to play dirty and wanting a trade (behind close doors) WELL he's gonna have to tarnish that clean image a little. Can't have it both ways. Dude is the best QB in Seattle history and he's gonna throw that franchise under the bus (make it sound like they wanted to trade him) nah I'd call him out on that. See if he holds out.

I just think those sort of trades aren't gonna get figured out before Jimmy is moved anyway, so in reality it's not gonna affect his trade value all that much.

Is it just me or is Russ just a little b****. I mean JG they used his #1 wideout at running back half the year, drafted his replacement, not a peep out of the guy other than straight up professionalism. Russ, they get Lockett and Metcalf, bonafide studs, and he's like oh my offensive line isn't good I take too many sacks it's my offensive lines fault.

Garoppolo is likely to be traded sooner rather than later. With questions about the draft class, teams are going to want to secure the QB position prior to FA. The longer a team waits, the more likely it is that someone else is going to jump in and make a deal. Nobody that needs a QB is going to sit around and wait for Wilson and/or Rodgers to make up their mind.

The one issue that will weigh in when a team thinks about a trade is his injury history. If it was just about his ability to play well enough to help a good team then a 2nd or even a late 1st would be in play. But then if the team looks at availability it's a different story.

...except he played reasonably well with two injuries this year.

The normal approach to protect the team is to include a conditional pick. So, a 2nd this year pus a 2023 conditional 5th that becomes a 4th based on snaps.

The "injury" issue is not a big deal. Teams deal players all the time that have had injuries. It is just the nature of a violent game.

Did he?

After his thumb injury, Jimmy went 7-9 for 121 yards with one touchdown and one fumble.

The rest of the season Jimmy went 66-106 (62 completion percentage) and threw for an average of 212 yards per game and a TD to INT ratio of 2-6.

His average rating in those final 4 games was 74.775. That's QB rating not QBR… which was much lower.

Owner wants to keep Tua.

That should have been a red flag to turn down the job. McDaniel might be making a McStake.

Yeah, but the word now is McDaniel likes Tua and they will build the team around him.

Mostert is going there now

Ya I could see that.

Let the poaching begin.

and he's from Florida. Surf's up!

Rodgers getting traded opens up Green Bay as a potential destination for Jimmy. Wilson would be different,as moving him would signal a full fledge rebuild in Seattle.

Jimmy and a 2022 4th
for 2022 2nd, 2022 3rd and 2023 2nd

Having 2 2nd's and 3 3rds this year would allow the Niners the flexibility to move around during the draft

To add more perspective.

If we extrapolate those numbers to fit a full season.

Jimmy's numbers would be this.

3,600 yards (in 17 games) 9 touchdowns and 26 interceptions.

I totally disagree with this. If Rodgers and Davante Adams leave, this team will not be in a win now mode.

They certainly won't be rebuilding with all the talent they have on that roster. Find a QB to plug-in, draft a couple of wide receivers and you're still in play to go to the playoffs in the NFC North.

It all comes down to how they feel about Love and whether or not they believe that he can be a good starting QB.

Can't imagine they feel great about Love, he looked very mediocre in his game reps. Did look good in his preseason games…

I do think they'll ultimately convince Rodgers to run it back one more time. They have a new ST coordinator, they can go all in to upgrade their remaining weak spots, upgrade the OL and ads more WRs.
