What will Jimmy's trade value be in the offseason?

First and more.

Hopefully a 2nd from a s**tty team. Since we would have had the 29th pick, ot wouldn't be too big of a loss.

For the sake of the team I hope you're right. I just don't see that happening. Like SWH said, you can't compare the players and assume that Jimmy will receive more or similar compensation than Wentz, Stafford or Alex Smith.

I agree that I think he's gonna be a Steeler. But I want and hope they give us their 1st, it's late anyways. I badly want the best available cb or edge, matter fact I'm leaning edge because I believe they're more of a chance to hit than a late 1st cb which I rather just sign a proven one. I'll be so tempted to take Jameson Williams wr from Bama tho even with an ACL rehab, dude would be a weapon for Lance. Deebo, Aiyuk, Kittle, Williams, Mitchell and Mostert resigned on OUR terms this team is averaging over 30 if Lance turns out to be a stud.

Hoping for Steelers. My guess would be 3rd and 5th.

I agree not all trades are equal. Stafford's trade was a hefty batch of draft picks but it was also a salary dump by the Rams. The driving piece for getting at least a 2nd or more is the market this offseason. Bad draft choices for QB plus Brady retiring and if the other elite QBs stay on their teams = big lack of supply. This is a great time to be selling a QB. That will drive the cost up to get Jimmy on their team.

A shanty team isn't going to trade for an older qb with 1 year left on his contract.

They will keep Garoppolo if they don't get more than a 3rd. People freaking out about easily manipulated cap numbers. Niners can get everybody done with Garoppolo. Only the cash outlay will change.

Not the ideal path, obviously. But acting like they won't keep him sans a great deal is silly.

I'm all about getting the most draft capital we can out of Jimmy and he doesn't have a no-trade clause. However, imo the 49ers aren't going to send him to a crappy team and will do what they can to get Jimmy to a good situation (hopefully in the AFC). Also, likely a new contract with the trade partner so 1 year likely won't matter.

It doesn't matter where he goes. He will get a contract extension that gives him more guaranteed money and reduces his cap burden.

The contract is flexible and can easily be a non issue.

Why do people keep bringing up his contract as a trade blocker??

It will 10000% be extended with his new team. Nobody is trading for one year of Garoppolo lol.
