That sunny side of the field kills the crowd participation.

The stadium should have had a modern design for Santa Clara.

Yesterday was the first game where I went to Levi's sober. I thought being sober would help with the heat because I hate being drunk in the sun. It definitely helped, but was still hot af. 1st quarter was manageable but by 2-230pm I had to get out of the sun for a bit.
I do think it's the damn glass from the suites reflecting additional heat.

It really is crazy how hot it gets there. Yes, I am very aware that all of us Bay Area residents are soft when it comes to heat. But it literally feels 15 degrees hotter in the stadium than it does outside. That HAS to be stadium design.

my seats are in the upper level right where the sun hits for most of the game. I wore a cotton shirt and loose fitting shorts yesterday and every time I got up/out of my seat, my shorts were soaking wet like i'd jumped into a pool. all sweat. so gross.

Serious question. If I buy tickets for a game what section/area is best to avoid this heat. Honestly it sound brutal. Also FYI coming from Indy.

Sit behind the 49ers bench area. Although the weather is turning to fall, Sunday should be the last "hot game".
Next two of three games are prime time.

Go to a Raiders game? lmao I'm not wasting over $200 to watch a game I have better things to do with my life on Sundays.
I watch football on gamepass without commercials way after the games are over. I never enter to losers world on gameday threads on forums and youtube. I usually just watch NFL Redzone to catch every game at the same time.

It's very simple, if the team wins cool, celebrate. If the team loses, whatever, who cares. Getting angry from a pointless game takes you nowhere.

Am I supposed to hate the Raiders and not enjoy the football they are playing? Not enjoy watching the Cardinals and Rams playing great football? Or the Chiefs with an elite talent at QB? Just because of pathetic hate and fandom? lmao yeah it's your loss if you'll be miserable watching football because of some pointless fandom.

You sure do like to waste your time telling us about how much you don't like to waste your time. It's cool that you're just a casual fan. It doesn't make you better than anyone.

lmao you went hunting all my posts for this answer? Pathetic.
It takes less than 2 or 3 mins to write each post and I barely read what clueless fans have to say so yeah not a big waste of time.

So, basically, you're Forty Whining about people making objective criticisms against our team?

There actually aren't that many objective criticisms being offered in these threads. Almost all of the regular posters, with a few notable exceptions, have some narrative they're pushing or some player or coach they hate and feel compelled to complain about constantly. Or like to pretend they know more than they do about one thing or another. I have always felt that forty whiners was a pretty appropriate nickname

Just wondering how other fan based sites are after a loss ? They all can't be objective, and surely many posters are biased and angry.

I imagine all fan bases are pretty much the same. I never visit other team's fan forums so I can't speak to that one way or the other. Whenever I come in here though I am reminded of what was probably one of Steve Young's best quotes, "In San Francisco it's never enough to just win, you have to earn style points as well".

Forget what happens when the team loses even when it wins there is constant complaining. "Oh, we should have won by more". "Oh, our air yards per play was too low", "Oh, we would have lost if this or this or this had happened", "Oh, Kyle is a bust". "Oh, Lynch doesn't know what he is doing. We should have drafted this low round player who no one ever heard of before but ended outplaying his draft position instead of the player we did choose three years ago".

And when the team does lose reason goes completely out the window, Turns out Jimmy hurt his leg on the first series of the game which affected his ability to drive the ball on his throws which must have caused some problems but try and mention that as just a matter of fact thing and it becomes, "Jimmy excuses". Trey looked exactly like a you would expect a rookie QB to look and some people are already blasting him and Lynch and Shanahan for having given up the draft capital to get him. There are a lot of reasons why a team wins or loses on any given Sunday, but unless this team always wins and every player on the roster is a Pro Bowler and every draft pick plays up to his draft status, and no one very makes a mistake or a bad call it's just complain, complain, complain. Like I said, Forty Whiners has always seemed pretty appropriate.
Time to call out the fanbase? The 49ers are one of the few teams in NFL history that being good was not good enough. Being Great was the destination. The mentality of all pre 2000 fans was SB or nothing. Anything less is a disappointment. When we started going to Super Bowls again that mindset kicked in. Maybe, just maybe that whining is the expectation we won't settle for second best.
Yeah? Well you are pretty right .Hoping one day....

Imagine if social media was around during the 88' season when there was a QB controversy and the team was struggling early in the season. Sounds familiar don't it?

It does but as of now I see a wide gap between Steve and Lance.

Thank god the SF Giants won and clinched the NL West today. At least my day wasn't totally ruined.

Me too. My St. Louis Cardinals clinched a Wildcard spot.

Mods, if you want to lock this thread or ban me, I understand. But I need to air this out there. This fanbase is a joke. I'm not even mad at the team or coaching staff after this loss. This was all on typical bad luck on our side, good luck on their side, and a boneheaded play by Cannon. Jimmy is who he is, showed that today and it's why we have been limited on offense.

But this fanbase pisses me off. First half when we were dominating them, we were louder than the 12's, but the moment things started not going our way the announcers started clowning on our lack of home field advantage. Unacceptable, but it is what is. What is most egregious are the onslaught of the most ignorant, idiotic and a just downright awful comments made here and elsewhere on social media, particularly when it comes to the takes on Shanahan. He didn't have a perfect game, but WHAT DO YOU EXPECT WHEN JIMMY IS WHO HE IS AND ON TOP OF THAT HE GETS INJURED. Then when Trey comes in, everyone all up and thinks he must light it up and score like he's Mahomes with little to no preparation for taking over. What do yall expect? After he settled down, he made some good plays out there.

This fanbase is freaking toxic. It's why other fanbases clown on us. They call us the "Forty Whiners", and it is well deserved. All whining and moaning and calling to fire people left and right, with total lack of perspective or nuance.

I'm sure as hell glad yall aren't the GM/owner. If you were, we'd be worse than the 0-16 Lions/Browns teams. FACT!

Faithful, my ass. yall need to do better

His second to the last sentence is laughable.

If I were the GM we would've drafted Vince Wilfork in '04 and Aaron Rodgers in '05. I'm willing to bet my ass off we wouldn't be 0-16 with those two!!!!
