Is he hanging out with gang members in his free time? This can lead to injury, death or problems with the law. I'm much more concerned about that aspect. It shows awful lack of judgement and decision making. Probably guys he grew up with. But running with the wrong crowd in the offseason could get him killed or hurt. It's just such a bad idea. What's going on in his mind?

So, your issue is based only on him being outside in LA at 5am. Since you know nothing about what he knows about the people he was there with ... or even if he was there with the guy who threw him the keys ... that guy might have just shown up in that minute.

What if he was visiting his aunt to give her some medicine she needed, and was leaving when the other guy showed up followed immediately by the police. You don't know.

The report said 5:30 PM. That's a lot different than 5:00 AM.

People with guns are not necessarily "gang members" or the "wrong crowd", also it's entirely possible he didn't know the guy had a gun in his car. There are some friends I have that I know have guns in their car, but the ones I don't know could have guns or not. Also, I wouldn't know if the guns I know about are illegal. Was the gun in question illegal? Was Demo even in the car with the gun? From the description I saw he wasn't.

Pretty hard to blame Demo for anything other than pushing back against a cops orders.

Lot's of athletes grew up with guys that are in gangs. People don't forget their friends Maybe thus guy was a gang memeber and maybe he wasn't. If he was an old friend there's no reason to not talk to him.

I had a friend that I played little league ball with. I ran into him in later years and he was a Hells Angel. We still greeted each other as old friends.
