One thing, if anyone with better knowledge can chime in and comment on this. Does is seem like Trey's release point is kinda low? Like when the ball is release his release point is not that high (it's like below his head). He throws bullets but maybe this will hinder him from throwing farther, he only threw it 64 yards in that video on youtube. I feel like with his talent, a few mechanical tweaks and he could probably go 70's. it also seems a lot of purer throwers have a higher release point. I understand at the end of the day it may not matter as much but every little thing counts at this level. perhaps this can help his balls from being batted down (like in the AZ game). thoughts?
I think his release is fine. It's not elongated like Kap. I just don't see it as a problem. He has more things on his mind right now in the pocket. His release can be tweaked later next year when he's more comfortable with the offense.

It is strange to explain, because the runs didn't look fluid, but he certainly has the athletic ability. Perhaps the plays called were not in synchrony with him. The designated runs mostly sucked, but some scrambles were good. It looks like the play calling was improving during the game too.
In the end, he has a lot of things to work with, but it could have been much worse.
I'm pretty convinced it's his eyes. He doesn't know what he's seeing when he's passing half the time, and when he's running he's waiting for the holes that he had at NDSU to develop. When he is moving on pure instinct, he can move pretty well:
He needs to learn what rookie RBs have to learn: hit the damned hole!@
I'm looking back through the game. That's one of his best throws of the day.
Agreed. This was his best dime of the day thru traffic no doubt
This was an elite throw for sure. When his eyes catch up he's going to be a darn good pocket passer. But I don't think that's gonna happen until late next year (assuming no injuries or loss of confidence).

I like Jimmy but I don't think he attempts that throw. He would have hit Benjamin.
I actually think that was Jimmyesk of Trey. The throw showed me Trey can replace Jimmy throwing in the middle of the field.
Yeah, Jimmy will definitely make tight window throws over the middle. But that ball had some heat. Not sure if Jimmy fits that one in. Maybe. That's his golden area after all.

Now that is bs. Jimmy has made that type of throw in that tight of a window atleast twice this season. The first one was to Deebo, against Philly, I believe.
Here is the true story: Kyle not only knows what Trey can do, he's counting on it. He was hoping to keep as much as possible hidden, which is why he'd been running him so much. But when that wasn't working in a game needed to keep playoff hopes alive, he had to show a bit and let Trey throw a little. It won the game, and we move on to LA who will be harder. In that game, you will not only see more passes from Trey, but look to get Kittle specifically more involved. Each game we go through we will see more of what Trey can do.
