No hate against Lance but this guy was wrong place, wrong time, wrong team, and it feels like he missed his window if he was going to be anything in SF. What's best for him now is to go elsewhere. The Niners are not the team to let him see "what he can be" when that was supposed to be last year.
No hate against your opinion but I'll enjoy the process and let the 9ers and fate determine those things. Saying what's best for Lance doesn't make it what's best for Lance simply because people on the internet say so, nor does it make it what's best for the team.
And while you're on your pedestal, do you mind if I quote you real quick?

He's a great dude. There are plenty better QBs; there are plenty worse.....
....Be happy and support the guy cuz he's the signal caller of your favorite team this season. You can surely critique etc. but man, I just wanna see him do well and win games.
A great dude... Says all the right things... Consummate teammate and professional... Plays To His Highest Level of Effort... Yadda Yadda....
Sounds exactly like this Lance kid, so why the about face from your own advice given?
Did you really mean any of it? Or were you just supporting who had a preference for at the time and were willing to say anything favorable about him?
The process is a large part of the entertainment and a number of us are enjoying it as is.
Firstly, weird you felt compelled to dig into post history, but whatever.
Second, you're taking what I said about a completely different, veteran QB who had played a number of games as starter, went to the playoffs twice and a Super Bowl, and arbitrarily projecting it onto another QB in an entirely different set of circumstances who has done none of those things. It's not a knock on him by any means, it's just what his pro career has been the past two years.
I'll support whoever the Niners' QB is and root for them. But if I was a betting man, I just feel, unfortunately, that are far more odds are stacked against Lance now due to a multitude of factors. Not to say he won't overcome them, just saying that his path to success or, hell, even development into an NFL QB, has grew much more challenging in these past two years vs gotten easier.

You know not all reasoning is explicit. It is clear JG's production was part of the context of that post. This kind of obtuse "gotcha!" bullcrap is what should go right into the trash, as you put it.

I hope this is true but it's off-season. We heard this s**t with Jimmy G also.

TL made some changes, but he's not there yet and still has more work to do... it will difficult for him make these changes permanent, you throw the ball a certain way for 15 years of your life and all of a sudden drastic changes are made.
I'm rooting for the kid. I hope he comes into camp and destroys it all. Nothing would make me happier than seeing him shut down all these forty niner doubters. He has a big arm and if he has reworked his throwing motion , that's one step. If his broken finger was a problem for his accuracy and that's no longer an issue, that's two steps. If he can process what he's seeing from the defense quickly that's all he needs to blast off. I hope it happens so we ca listen to all these 'fans' who think the draft position was a bad move or those folks that think he doesn't have 'it'. LFG Trey, we're rooting for you!

All indications are that he's an extremely hard worker. There's no real reason to believe this stuff isn't true on some level.
The question would be is it going to translate when there are live bullets flying or is he going to revert to his previous mechanics.
Beyond that he had more issues than his throwing motion and we'll see if he can improve in those areas without real playing experience.
The bolded has always been my thing. It's easy to look good when that's what you're working on.
Is the following a correlation?
Observations from day 1 mini camp
During a redzone seven-on-seven session Lance hit on three of five attempts. All three of Lance's completions resulted in touchdowns, the best coming when he hit Jauan Jennings in the back left corner of the endzone.
Team drills started a bit rough for Lance.
Observations from day 2
The quarterback hit all four of his throws during the opening seven-on-seven period. His best throw of the period came when he found George Kittle deep down the right side.
Things became tougher for Lance when the offensive and defensive lines joined in.

Except he didn't throw that way for 15 years of his life. He was fixing issues that resulted from the broken index finger preseason his rookie year.
We also didn't exactly get a great look at him last year to know how much progress he would've made from rookie year to year 2. A bad weather game with some terrific throws and some awful throws didn't tell us much.
But yea…any offseason work is only as good as if it's translated to the real games. We've seen many offseason stars and even training camp stars who didn't do anything of note in the real games. Trey has to show up and show out and then see how things go.
