If at any point he gets some sort of swelling/pain it will conflict with his 6 month timeframe. Sounds like the success rate is high and he could come back better…but you gotta allow for everything to be 100%. Also have no clue about him getting hit or another sprain of the elbow and how that affects all that.
every 49er fan wants the best case scenario. I also want him to be 100% because his long-term health matters much more.
I 1000% agree with the long-term health portion. I personally wouldn't put him on the field til I was told he was as close to 100% as possible. However, we don't know when that is.
If he's able to do TC stuff, even on a restriction and come week 1 the doc says he's cleared, if I'm the coach he's playing. That's assuming the work he was able to do in TC is what we'd expect a healthy Brock to look like.
Now if he's not cleared or the Doc recommends a later return he wouldn't be playing. If he's cleared but I didn't like what I saw throughout TC he wouldn't be playing.
Under no circumstance would I sit him if he's cleared and looks good just to see what Trey's got. Now if Trey miraculously flips a switch and is lighting it up in TC and preseason then that buys us time with Brock.
