Wait a darn minute I swear that goes against what so many people have said on here.

If Kyle did what you wanted, we would've been eliminated from playoff contention a while ago

Cool so make the playoffs this year so next year we can struggle with Lance learning the ropes. See how flawed your thinking is.

So throw away a season of prime Nick Bosa, George Kittle,Deebo Samual, Trent Williams, etc so a raw rookie can "learn the ropes" after the fanbase had to endure 2018 & 2020? lol brilliant

The best way to ruin a young QB is also to play. The key is to be in a situation where they can develop off the field first, then on the field after when ready.

You know I've heard this argument before and I just think if a QB is gonna be great he will be great regardless of how his first year went. That's why there's been all kinds of success stories for QBs.

I have no problem with that happening earlier in the year

My problem was the news coming out from beat reporters and players earlier in the year saying how far along trey was and how great he was looking. It gave everyone false expectations of Trey when he did play. I now know I can't trust anyone with any player assessment. I'll just watch the game myself.
So you were ok with them telling us how great Jimmy looked and how this was his best TC EVER and then was absolutely buttcheeks for most of the first half of the season not being able to score in the fast half of multiple games? But now you lose faith in them?

Who the hell knows what happens next season? To quote Kyle Shanahan "I can't guarantee anyone will be alive" any fan should want their team to win and compete for the playoffs by any means necessary. The Trey cult is bats**t crazy for wanting to miss the playoffs If it meant bumf**k university boy got "meaningful snaps".

seriously wish they would've taken anyone other QB in that draft than this dude

I was a Fields guy myself but just because my team didn't take who I wanted didn't make me actively root against that player like some people.

49ers could have Satan at QB and I'd still root for him to win on Sundays. Just because i think he sucks(considering what he gave up for him) and shouldn't be on this team doesn't mean I "root against him".

Sounds like he didn't have a problem developing playing scout QB and not playing in real games. Never had a problem with him sitting and learning bc his work ethic and character is different from most who didn't. Dude is a leader and wants to be great, it's either you have it or you don't.

Wtf are you even bringing Jimmy I to this conversation for.

This is about how we had higher expectations of Trey based on what they fed us. Calm down.

One thing I noticed is, Lance tighten up his release. It's still not Jimmy G quick, but it's much quicker from TC/Preseason and a lot quicker than from NDSU days when he had that Kap long whined motion. He's improving and will only getting better. Good times are ahead.

Im calm. This isn't a Trey vs Jimmy thing. More a, it was clear the reports have been BS all season thing.

What are realistic expectations for Lance? He hasn't even played in garbage time in the past month or two. He's apparently "lighting up" the defense during practice, but that's all team-speak. I expect there to be some QB runs, but I do think it won't be at the level of the ARI game.

My guess:
55% comp. 215 yds 1 TD 1 INT 30 yd rushing 1 TD

I'm just hoping Kyle doesn't run him into the ground again if he starts.

I'm just hoping we're not facing an undefeated Cardinals team w/ Chandler Jones and JJ Watt rushing a 1st time starter again.

I agree. I just refuse to accept anything i read anymore. MM kept saying he's never seen anything as great as Trey in his history of covering nfl. Other reporters saying jimmy looking like a different Jimmy. All crap. I'm just gonna wait until inwatch the games myself to form any opinion

Jimmy doesn't discriminate. He gets hurt inside and outside the pocket.

But EVERY QB gets hurt behind our unit pass protection.

Every QB gets hurt at some point in the NFL.

Briefly scanning all NFL starting QBs, minus rookies due to small sample size, only ones I see that haven't been hurt are Hurts and Cousins. Just removed Goff since he hurt his knee getting hit by a DL and is out now

Crazy! We better get a talented backup in here behind Trey as soon as we part ways with Jimmy.

Forgot Allen also

Yeah man... athletic/non-athletic, white/black, great PP/bad PP, strong arm/noodle arm etc...your QB will get hurt at some point. The old saying, you're only as good as your backup means something.

FWIW Jalen Hurts missed a game due to an ankle injury...Minshew started.

Yea just a few days ago Allen took off "early" for a 25 yard scramble late vs. the Patriots that sealed the game.

The key is avoiding taking big hits and the timeliness of the scrambling. Maybe Allen looks different than Trey so it's kinda more forgiveable but it's going to be an equalizer here in this offense with Trey,...like it or not.

Maybe, and I want to emphasize maybe, players can look great in practice which is what these reports were based off of and then less so in real games
