It's good to have that balance in here.

Lol not incessantly s**tting on everything and not thinking I know everything = FO defender . What a cop out
lol... just pat them on the head and tell them to go run outside and play

Nah, you are always the first in here. There's nothing to see here. Everything is fine.

And nobody is freaking out to an extreme here...just recognizing that this is not a good situation for a young starting QB and adds even more question marks to an OL that already had a lot.

Can YOU recognize that?

You literally said I was one of them so yes, you were talking about me in your passive aggressive manner.

Pass pro has certainly been a major weakness for years and Jimmy G's quick release covered up for a lot of it. Now we are in worse shape. People are in denial trying to rationalize that we are going to be ok with this drop off, I am not. Even if Tretter is injured, he still plays thru it at a high level. Kyle has always had a veteran C and if Trey is playing behind Brendel or Brunskill we can expect another loss in the playoffs vs a possible SB victory. Plain and simple

Jimmy was only 10th in time to throw, so how much did his release really shield the o-line? His pressure percentage was 5th lowest.

In the NFC championship game, Jimmy's time to throw was 3.14 seconds which would have been the worst in the league over the course of a full season for any QB with over 100 snaps.

Again Jimmy is known for having an elite quick release so regardless of how you want to spin it or regardless of which narrative you are trying to push you cannot deny that his quick release helped the line much like Tom Brady has always done for his line.

Pulling out a stat in the NFC championship game does not help your case because as we all saw with our own eyes in the fourth quarter our line pass protected like absolute garbage. Pure utter garbage

Let's not try to minimize the loss of a very good center. We now have a quarterback that has a slower release so hopefully his ability to escape the pocket will be helpful because that's what it's looking like right now

Jimmy has a quick release, but his time to throw last season was just middle of the pack and that has more of an impact on PP than a quick release. Tom Brady's time to throw was significantly quicker than Jimmy's, despite having a higher ADoT.

The NFC championship game is also very relevant. Jimmy held the ball too long and the stats show that. We've also all seen the numerous clips of him passing up open receivers in that game. Those that think the o-line was the problem in that game just aren't aware of what they're actually seeing. It's easy to blame the o-line whenever there is pressure or a sack, but the QB is often more to blame. Elite QBs like Brady and Rodgers are consistently on the lower end of sacks and pressures regardless of the quality of their o-line.

You forgot the issue was the inability to run block. That lead to the OL needing to hold PP longer d/t the down and distance. It's all related.

If you were talking about the Rams game in the NFCCG, keep in mind Trent Williams was injured and basically playing on one leg. Otherwise that OLine held up (yes with duct tape and bailing wire) but it held up - up to that point when they needed those two yards to get that first down in the fourth QTR. Trey's mobility would have been a factor in that situation. He could have faked a dive or inside zone and Trey has the speed to get out and make a first down if the Rams sell out on stopping Mitchell or Deebo. Jimmy's slow footspeed would negate any sort of boots that Trey could have done in that situation.

Can't our front office be like the 10-15 other ones who make a move to replace a very good player? Go get Tretter already dammit! We need to maximize Trey's rookie contract and help him not get killed back there.

Hell, pretend we were in the NFCCG with an average qb and need only a small upgrade not downgrade to win a SB

They really should've had a better backup plan for Trey. C is too critical of a position for both a rookie QB and a Shanahan offense. Brendel better be a hell of a diamond in the rough.

Why is Mack still in the 49er thread. He is not 49er. His one year stint was meh and screws the team by deciding to retire in June.

Has he signed with a different team ?

I have been beating this drum for a while now. But unfortunately, we are going to need to cut Jimmy first to be able to afford him. Lynch needs to stop sitting on his hands and make this happen. No one is going to give us a damn thing for Jimmy now, or in a month. Just do it already!!

That answer should be clear. I would have more respect if he did.

Could be the injury clause?
