Onward and upward Mack.. do you think we would have landed Jurgens if he fell to our pick?

To me this doesn't seem to be as big of an issue as you both obviously think. We've had a revolving door at C and other than 2020 with Hrossu (sp?) we've had pretty similar results. I suspect Shanahan assumes he can get decent production from random guys so why spend top
dollar. Ditto for G.

Brunskill/Brendel/West. Are gonna be responsible for keeping Lance upright all season?. As well as Banks, Moore and a RT who's returning from a serious Injury. Welp, this should be Interesting.

Agreed. Not ideal, but this is just giving folks the opportunity to be dramatic and piss and moan lol
I'm going to assume Brendel is probably the front runner for replacing Mack. I remember last year based off camp they seemed to like him and because he was second team he probably does have a lot of experience with Lance so that is probably helpful
Big loss for Trey. He was going to benefit the most by having a dude like Alex Mack take full responsibility of all the pass pro calls.

If anything this may be a good thing. QBs have a close relationship with the center. Really close. He didn't really have much of a history with Mack.. and if Mack returned he would be gone in a handful of months anyway, right?

Now he gets a new center to work with maybe for the long-haul..

Honestly, I feel like the 9ers failed this off-season. Why would they not address a position of need when they must have known that Mack would most likely retire? You'd think they would everything they could to protect their franchise QB. Strange philosophy Imo.

They prioritize d-line, WRs, and RBs in the draft and pick developmental players elsewhere (outside of the big splash with Trey). Not saying it's the right move, but it's on brand.

I would disagree with that. If we're hoping that Brendel/West are the future, we're most likely gonna be disappointed. This Is like the situation we had to deal with through 2019 when we lost our center.

No doubt. It's their "Philosophy" when It comes down to building a competitive team. Not sure It's the right way to build a super bowl winning team. We'll see though.

I don't necessarily disagree, but they clearly feel more comfortable with the C room than us. Also thought it was a steal to get West as an UDFA. I wouldn't have minded him in the 4th
