Perhaps Verrett bets on himself for the 2021 season, and accepts another 1 year deal, to try and prove this year wasn't a fluke with him being healthy, and playing at a pro bowl level? Maybe a 1 year 7-8 million dollar fully guaranteed deal might appeal to him, especially since we he looks good in our D schemes.

I wouldn't if I were him. He's never had the big contract.

Agreed. This is his first healthy season in a long time. It's probably best to cash in now

Cuts/Trades, Pay Cuts, or Restructures:
QB Jimmy Garoppolo (Cutting/Trading him would save $23,723,529 pre June 1, $25,123,529 post June 1, $18.42M to restructure deal)
C Weston Richburg (Cutting him would save $4,496,349 pre June 1, $7.95M post June 1)
DE Dee Ford (Cutting him would save $5,724,126 pre June 1, $15,294,118 post June 1)
DE Arik Armstead (Restructure saves $4.528M)
FS Jimmie Ward (Restructure saves $5.86M, cutting saves $1,441,176, trade saves additional $3.5M)
I don't see them parting ways with either Armstead or Ward. If they trade or cut Jimmy, they wouldn't need to redo AA or Ward. If they want to bring back the players I mentioned(mainly K'Waun, Trent, Juice, Hyder, & Verrett) they need to cut or do a pay cut for Dee ASAP, same for Richburg. June 1 cuts don't help, I don't want to hear the whole Warner's extension talk, it'll be easy like Kittle's, no it wasn't 100% easy to get done, the bonus was, give Warner a $15M bonus, $3M prorated each year from 2021-2025.
I currently have the 49ers getting Ford to take a $8M pay cut and Richburg a $5M pay cut, with around $6.991M in cap room after these moves, includes redoing AA, Ward, and Jimmy(I would like to see him given one more shot), and pay cuts for Dee and Richburg, if they cut Dee/Richburg they'd lose about $2.3M for Dee, & $500K for Richburg, so the cap room would go down to $4.191M, and that's before any other cuts or potential restructure of say Laken Tomlinson(I can see them extending him, he & Trent have been good on the left side, so they may want to keep them together), and this is based on a $175M cap, if the cap goes up to say $195M, then I wouldn't touch Ward or AA's deals, I would have them at around $16M under, also this is before any carryover or credits, same for on a $175M cap, if they do get the $3.125M LTBE credits, $2,465,625 for pre game roster bonuses not earned, and $304,500 UDFAs GTD money pay backs, and $2.8M carryover, I have them at $15.744M under on a $175M cap, or $25.356M on a $195M cap.
I won't go into the draft, as I don't know crap about prospects anymore, I stopped doing that a few yrs back.
The only thing for me and it's a very small one—I like KB, but we can get what we get from him from a ~5th round rookie or later. So there's another couple mill right there. I won't be mad if we bring him back but at least a rookie would have upside, I kinda think Bourne is what he is at this point, a 4th WR at best.
Thanks for your post and making me feel like we actually can keep this core together going into next year.

Cut Ford, I think they hope Richburg can be healthy next year and if so he's a good C
Resign Williams, Garland, Verrett, K Williams, Hyder, Jones
Replace Saleh with Dan Quinn or Gus Bradley ( same scheme )
Draft a QB ( Wilson ) then OL, CB, S, WR..
All this with a healthy squad and we are right back in the mix.
I agree with many of your moves. Ford should look into life after football. Richburg is on the same boat, the Niners have waited long enough. Williams is a future HOFamer, Sherman is winding down and can't get healthy. As far as Jimmy G is concerned, it is a heated debate on both sides. My take is purely from a health standpoint, can't count on someone that is gone more than half the season. Coach is the QB whisperer, I'm sure he can find someone on the market or through the draft to keep the team rolling.

NY, "I'm not against JG and don't hate him"
"Here's absurd accusations bordering hyperbole."
We've been back and forth over the paycheck, you've never once shown me how contrary ideas co-exist. Like a low cap and high contracts. Show me how that exists, in the same level of data I have provided, and then we'll talk his contract keeping us from retaining talent.
Go look at his INT's per game.....really?
I've already posted comparisons of 15+ yard passes in Kyle's offense.
Your arguments are so tired and you blatantly ignore facts.
And you're blind love for Jimmy is even more tired. We get it, you'll make up whatever to prop up Jimmy and make him some "top 5 QB" which are your words![]()
I for sure don't love him like you, I also don't think he's the worst QB in the NFL...he's an avg QB with little elite traits, who can't stay healthy, and turns the ball over entirely too much given what he's asked to do. He also has a quick release and can run Kyle's scheme (or how he wants it run with the QBs he has). If you don't think they can do better than you're accepting avg. no thanks.
As far as the cap goes, you've shown nothing of substance or actual evidence showing anything will be better in 2021...just "good faith" BS.
So forgive me if I don't agree with you about our QB and the amount of cash he's making. You want it keep him and pray that the cap will be higher and we will be exactly like 2019...I'll be more of a realistic about it and some tough decisions will be made INCLUDING who's gonna be the QB for the future (because that's what I care about long-term).
And if Jimmy miraculously turns into a pro-bowler I'll gladly eat crow.
NY is pretty much right on the money as far as his assessment of Jimmy, totally agree. Love your stuff here JD, but we need to find another option as far as a franchise QB.
