Who do we build around?

I'm liking what I see out of Mosley and Varett. They might be an excellent building blocks for the secondary. Sherm has been awesome but has lost a step. Maybe try him at safety?

Can't trust Varett. He's playing well but he historically can't stay healthy.
On Offense: Simply said, George Kittle. Our running game flourishes because of him and he is a weapon on offense.
  • I'm looking forward to how Deebo and Aiyuk develop, but I do wonder how they are as outside WRs. Obviously, they're great when they get the ball in their hands.
  • We have a good runningback in Mostert, but all in all, we have a great running scheme.
  • On our offensive line, mmm... if Trent Williams returns to form, then him for the next few years... but beyond that, no one. McGlinchey is NOT the second-coming of Joe Staley--he's a good run-blocker, but hasn't been that great of a pass-blocker.

On Defense: Nick Bosa and Fred Warner are the cornerstones of the defense. Everyone else are solid, but not franchise players.
  • Arik Armstead is good, but he's not a force.
  • Our secondary is solid, but no one to write home about once Sherman retires. I am intrigued by if Verrett is back to Pro Bowl form though.
Warner and Greenlaw, attorneys at law.

Kinda sad when you think about it that way...

Jason Verret
The qb position is looking more shakey by the day. Jimmy looks like he's reached his ceiling and Mullins is a great backup.

The skill positions look pretty solid. I still want a big bodied burner at Wr and possibly another reliable TE.

O-LINE needs work! We have pieces. Just not the whole pie.
blue chippers

Bosa
Warner
Kittle
Aiyuk (yes, I believe he is a star with the right QB)
Without a FQB, we're back to a 2 or 3 year plan.

Hopefully it's a deep QB class.

We need a FQB.. Jimmy is good but we've seen him at his best and just good enough not to lose most days. I'd like a duel threat young qb on a cheap rookie deal.
You guys are way too whiny. We might not have a ton of big names on offense or defense, but our guys play hard. On defense all we are missing is a pass rush and that will be solved once Bosa comes back, AA slides inside and we platoon with Ford/Willis/Hyder...etc.

Between our run game and D, we can win a SB. We just need to get healthy.
Deebo
Kittle
Aiyuk
Mostert
Hasty
Juice

There is a lot of talent on the offense to build around.

Warner
Bosa
Greenlaw
Kinlaw
DJ Jones
Blair
Verett ( Bring him back!! )
Mosley
TMoore

There is a lot of talent on D to build around. I'm not worried about the future.

Build around no one. Have a solid team with good athletes that know their job with a team first attitude. I say we build around Coach KS and what offense he really wants to run. I can guarantee that star players will rise up out of competition and will lead the team just like Warner and Kittles.

Agree with this roster.

I would add Wilson Jr. instead of Hasty.

Agree on the defense too.

Add Hyder as a rotational piece and for now would probably bring back K. Williams and move Armstead in a couple of years when his contract allows to.
